Challenging course
Love playing this course. It's a challenge yet has a few "friendly" holes. Couple of uphill Par 4's difficult to reach in regulation if you're not a long ball hitter. A few greens (with tough pin placement) will make you think twice which way the ball is breaking. Overall the course is fun to play and I would highly recommend.
Poor greens
I understand the greens need to be sanded, but they
were also too dry and the fairways too wet.

Fast Green, even after sanding
Played yesterday and overall, course was in great shape. Would rate it a 5 star but greens recently sanded but give it a couple weeks and it’ll be back to 5 star. That said, even with sanded greens, they still play very fast. This is one of the best groomed public courses you can play.

What a Value!
I am not a HUGE fan of RTJ Jr designs but this course felt a bit different; some of the bunkering and green complexes felt like MacKenzie styled design. Course was in really good shape and greens were outstanding for being one of the last groups of the day.
And for $35 on a Saturday with a cart, it's hard to come up with a better value in the Sacramento area (we walked Haggin Oaks in the morning for $50).
Will definitely be coming back if I am in the Sacramento area.

Great time of the year to be golfing in this area especially the Ridge golf course, the greens are well kept and the fairways is well maintained

No goose poop
Best course I’ve played all summer hot deal + rewards got me a round at the Ridge for $10. Fantastic shape for late summer greens will test your A game. It’s like Auburn Valley and Whitney Oaks had a demon child and his name is The Ridge. Played last season and the goose poop was terrible... but not a problem yesterday all in all a great day for golf!

Well maintained course
First time playing the course. Upon arrival, the staff working the desk was very helpful. I told him that it was my first time playing the course so he explained the course and what to watch out for and approach shots. Good advice! I shot a 92 from blue tees. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape. The tee boxes were nicely mowed and had excellent turf to hit off. The only flaw were the bunkers. They were slightly compacted needed turning, no issues hitting out onto greens. Overall, excellent course! I had a late tee time and a hot deal and it was a hot day, took only three hours to finish. It was wide open until the last four holes.
