The Ridge Golf Course & Events Center

Some years ago, toured as a spectator this course when they hosted an LPGA tournament. I think it was a Long Drugs Tournament. Wanted to play here but never got around to. Got the chance to play thanks to GolfNow. It was quite a challenge but thoroughly enjoyed the round. I started my golf game in Georgia mountains some 20 years ago. Familiar with, in fact, I play better in the mountain courses.

There was enough challenges with inclining, narrow and sharp dog leg fairways, tough rough, a bit too many sand traps surrounding the greens. Certainly not a course for less than a medium - skilled or beginning players. Had 2 d-bogies and lost a half a dozen balls to the forest. Scored one of the highest in recent years.

Scenery is excellent even with heavy overcast. Wildlife help the scenery: geese, ducks and some gophers and squirrels. Needed cleaning of the animal refuses though.

Will come back when the weather is good to see if I can improve my scores.

My wife and I were very pleased with this course playing it for the first time. Not a long course but very challenging none the less. My wife loved the greens as well as I. This course is target Golf with skinny fairways and small greens. We loved that it was very reasonably priced and that they are not strict at all on joining you with others to make a complete foursome. Two singles in front of us and a single walker behind. Will be coming here more often.

I had a single time for 12:30. I arrived at 11:45 and hit a small bucket of balls. The gentleman at the counter said, " Enjoy your bucket and come back in when you're done and we will get you going ". The course was wide open to go and I tee'd off at 12:15. The greens were awesome and the fairways were being managed on this day (tines vs goose poop)! Great job The Ridge for your hospitality! I was off the course by 3:40.

when I can, but I would not call my self a regular so this made an impression on me. Nice touch.

Tee time was exact and I was paired with some great guys. Pace of play was good, some waiting but never very long.

The course is a little rough which surprises me as it is usually in good shape. Do not misunderstand, I would be back there tomorrow!

This is without a doubt my favorite course in the Sac/foothill area. Never boring and never easy.

Can't wait to play The Ridge again!

The Ridge always satisfies. Great Pro. Friendly staff. A little wet in front of several greens eliminating the run up but greens immaculate and fast.

Great course and quite chalangung ! Environment is hilly and beautiful. Nice clubhouse and restaurant.

A beautiful course. It's a very challenging but fair layout. Toughest part of the course are the greens especially when they are running fast. Chances are you'll want to come back after you've played it once.

We booked tee time 2 day prior and talked to starter in pro shop... Not once did they tell us that their was a high school girls tournament being played. It made for a very long round.

Green speed is perfect. Just happened to have my best round of the year. 5 putts over 12', greens rolling nicely.

Tee boxes and greens are in bad shape.

Course gets a lot of corporate outings and they are not keeping up with the damage done by the "drunk hackers" .

Bring all 14 clubs you'll need them. Beautifully laid out course, that challenges you to constantly consider risk/reward. Friendly staff and the new normal, as they have cost cut by letting the course go....it's a shame with a course like this but, until golf picks-up I'm afraid we will see more and more course in need of repair.

When I booked my round that morning I failed to look at the date. It was 2 days later, the Pro shop was kind enough to understand and got me out. They said, this happens more than you would think.

This is one of my favorite courses and playing through the GolfNow app makes it even better. This course is a must play

Great course layout, lots of altitude ,. really tough, but lots of fun. Nice facility, friendly staff, and good bar.

Love the ambiance around the clubhouse with bronze statues of John Wayne, Geronimo and a Sabertooth Tiger. Newer carts with GPS and ice box are nice but trigger a slow down/stop if you attempt to drive in ob area or outside of directional cart path signs. Arthritic players, bad knee, ankles or older golfers will have a hard time here. The course is pretty nice overall but not exactly lush fairways as they are struggling to keep grass pure in the August heat. On course restrooms are clean. Water buckets every other hole. The staff member at the pro shop spent some time pointing out the particulars for our first round here. The fairways are tight but the sand was fluffy and the greens were primo. Stay within yourself and don't try to get too fancy, you'll be rewarded with a fair chance to score. Worth the hour drive from South Sac. on a Hot Deal!

The course is in great condition, greens are perfect. This course is well designed, with many traps and water, but is fair if you play smart golf. Course offers a challenge, but is not unfair or so difficult as to frustrate the average golfer. One problem; (pace of play issue)we had a foursome, had to let six doubles and three singles go through during our round. The doubles and the single should have been paired up. Not fair to us and caused disruption and really slowed us down.
