The Ridge Golf Course & Events Center

Excellent course condition tee to greens with pockets of soggy marsh due to recent rain. Gentle terrain relief makes this course visually engaging while technically challenging. Ample green area and varying width fairways bring linear perspective into play on par fives. Very enjoyable and playable.

Played with my son (his first Ridge experience) in cold rain. Course was in superior shape despite the weather. Greens had good speed despite a lot of water. My 8th time playing this course, and I enjoy it more each time as I get to know its nuances.

Great staff, Course, and amenities. Dark Horse and The Ridge are the best 18 hole courses in Auburn area. That said....The Ridge has the edge.

Only thing I don't like is that first hole. Pain to start the round with a seven :))

The course is always great to play. Great challenge! Pace of play was very slow since cart path only.

Was my 1st time playing this course and we played 18 holes. It was in fairly good shape considering the time of year(Dec), location (Tahoe area)and the fact that the grounds were pretty wet from recent snows. Course is tight, and has plenty of trouble if you don't keep it in the fairway. Greens were Excellent considering the conditions above and for the most part, very undulating & Fast! Only drawback was that because of the time of year, the restaurant was not open until 11am, and t-time was 10:30, so had to grab something for breakfast before arriving at course. However the food there when we got done was very good! Will definitely go back in the summer months.

Beautiful is exactly what this course is But, it also is challenging for though of us who struggle with ball control lots of places to go hunting and lots of rewards (lost balls of others) for thoughs who will actually look for there balls in the OB. Greens have excellent speed very consistent through the whole course fast and fun. Great job staff. Thanks

Greens were fast! Some unfair pin placements but i will know better next time, since this was the first time I played course. I definitetly will be back, the course was in great shape and weather was a perfect 65 degrees!

Great course, especially with the GolfNow Hot deal. Very challenging. I'm glad I brought out the used balls for this course.

Great, challenging course design in mountains. Bunkers easy to play out of with correct form. Greens just right, not too fast. Some uphill shots mixed into downhill and level approach shots. Staff is friendly and efficient especially the cute waitress who served the beers on patio!

Very nice facilities with a friendly staff. Course was in excellent shape. Teed off ahead of schedule so who doesn't like that. Pace of play started to slow down around #8 and I noticed that I didn't see a Marshall anywhere all day. Ended up with a 5+ hour round however I played with three friends so we found ways of passing the time between shots. No worries.....I'll be back.

I live in the area and the Ridge is at the top of my list of local golf. I really enjoy the layout.

I've played The Ridge on several different occasions, once being a high end fundraising tournament with the course in immaculate condition. When I played Saturday October 17, 2015 the area had just experienced some overnight downpours. As a result I found the course to be pretty slushy in many areas, not typical of any of my previous experiences. Other than the out of anyone's control downpour contributing to less than desirable course conditions in numerous places, I found the rest of the course to be great. Greens rolled true, fairways were groomed nicely, tee boxes in good shape, sand bunkers drained well, and the rough was very playable.

Carts were not allowed on the course, and I can understand why. This led to a little slower play than normal, however our group managed to play 18 holes in about for and a half hours.

I had a great time and would highly suggest this Golf course to anyone wanting to test their Golf skills on a nice but challenging course.

Always a good course and challenging but it's been a long, hot, dry summer in Northern CA and the course is showing the stress. Also, stuck behind two extremely slow foursomes and that made for a 5 hour round. Still had a good time and would come back.

We really enjoyed the trip to the Ridge. We felt welcome. We had an sunday starting time after a tournament, but never had to wait at all. We were teamed up with two locals who helped us with a few suggestions on where not to hot the baal. It improved our score. They were both pleasant to play with, with a similar handicap.
The course itself was in good condition, tee, fairways and greens were really green. The coyrse is not simple, it is not for nothing called the ridge. We lost a few balls in the harzard, but were fortunate that they were marked with red stakes.
Overall a very worthwhile experience. Afterwards we had a beer and a burger in the bar, and were pleased again with the service.
We will recommend this course to everybody!

Enjoyed the course, It was in excellent shape and played well, Played from the Blues because my playing partner makes me!! I am about a 18 handicap and thoroughly enjoyed the course. Played the round in under 4 hours!

Everything went well. No problem with price, or anything related to the GolfNow experience.
Course is one of my favorites.

This course is a challenge. I love it even though it is quite a drive from my home.

My continuous issue is this is such a tough course, pace of play suffers and there is no pace monitoring. On this day, we were the 4th group off....the 3rd group played in over 5 hours with no one holding them up. Am sure the group combined for at least 500 strokes. If you are a 18 index or higher, you may want to try an easier course, you will have no. fun here

I am hesitant to write such an excellent review because I don't want this gem of a course to get overcrowded. Elevated fairways, immaculate fairways, fair layout that challenges both long and short game, and a few very very tough greens (I like that). If you play it, reserve the driver for only those holes that are obvious or you may regret it.

I enjoyed the course very much and thought it was in very good condition. I was very disappointed in the pace of play. Took over five hours. I know they use a computer system tracking the carts on the course but they need marshals on the course to speed up slow groups and ensure a maximum 4.5 hr rounds for all the golfers on the course. I don't know if they even expect a 4.5 hr pace since our GPS system on our cart said we were only 27 min behind pace as we we starting the 17th hole (We were already on the course for about 5 hrs). We were waiting on every tee box and fairway for the group in front of us for the entire 18 holes. On the 18th hole ( a long par 4) there were four groups on the (1 on the green, 1 just short of the green, 1 in the tee land area, and us on the tee box.). A bachelor party of 8 was playing behind us and played as an Eightsome after the 7th hole because it was so slow and we could not pull away from the eightsome because of the slow play of groups ahead of us.
Again the course was extremely enjoyable but they need one or two marshals on the course to ensure a good pace of play (<4.5hrs)
