The Ridge Golf Course & Events Center

Beyond frustrated with The Ridge. I booked and paid in advance for a morning tee time. I received an email the day before my tee time and said they double booked by accident. The course didn’t offer up another tee time and didn’t issue a refund. I did like this course but this is bad way to do business.

Ya, sure The Ridge is busy. But, that's because it's a FUN COURSE, for a FAIR PRICE. The Ridge absorbed, all of the rounds that used to get played, at Auburn Valley. I would rather play the Ridge 3-4 rounds. Then play Winchester 1 time. The Ridge is in better shape than Winchester.

The course was exceptional with rolling hills, great scenery and challenging greens.

But the deal breaker was that the golf course management oversold tee times, slowing up course movement to a standstill at times, with 10 minute waits on almost every hole. A regular player there said this was common as the " course was so popular."

Well, I'll tell you long wait times make for a bad experience and unpopular course -- especially when you pay premium money and don't even get to finish your round. We started at 2:20 and left at 6:50 after only finishing hole 15. There was barely a hal-hour of sunlight left as movement at the end got especially backed up.

In addition, there were no course monitors pushing play along or encouraging slow players to speed up their rounds. For these reasons, I won't be back.

This was my first time on this course. I really enjoyed the variety of play provided by course layout although I would have preferred fewer and/or smaller bunkers. Pace of play was SLOW however, at over FIVE HOURS on a weekday afternoon - can't imagine what weekends are like. Did not see a marshal all day. They could use one.

This is one of the best courses in the area. It's very technical and challenging. Alway kept up well.

The greens were slow and had recently been cross mowed. Normally these multi level greens are a bear. But when you add the fact that the greens needed mowing and they were cross mowed; it made putting a nightmare.

Had I known; I never would have paid $57 for greens in this condition.

I've played this course alot of times,but nvr had a near 6 hr round till now,it really sucked!The course looked great but was drenched in so many areas,creating sum bad shots,like hitting out of muddy grass!!

This has been on my list of places to play for a while and it was worth the drive from Sacramento (~50 minute drive). Staff was friendly and check in was easy. Driving range was only using mats instead of grass, but that’s not a huge deal. The layout of the course is really cool with some elevated tee boxes and some precariously placed bunkers. A good test of golf in the Foothills. The course was water logged in some areas, to the point where your foot would splash up some water. There were also some dirt and dead grass areas throughout. Not sure if there was a maintenance issue going on but I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt. The fact the course is less than 1/2 mile away from two killer breweries (Knee Deep and Moonraker) is just an added bonus. Glad I crossed it off my list!

Its been hot, but the course was wet showing over watering throughout the course. Some fairways were so wet that carts were prohibited which makes no sense. But it is a great course and fun to play.
