Lockwood Folly Country Club

Third time playing this course. Staff was great. Very good course layout. Greens need work, very patchy. Unfortunately there was no beverage cart. This is a big miss, on a links course.

Overall, the course wasn’t terrible. The tee boxes were a little overrun by what looked like weeds, but was kept trim. The fairways were in great shape and even the rough was taken care of. The greens were decent but a lot were being repaired and fixed so they had some rough spots, especially around the fringes. Looking at pictures online, we chose this course expecting more scenery on and around the holes, especially being by the water. Unfortunately, only a couple holes gave you a decent view of the inland waterway. I enjoyed playing the course; but I did expect a little more for the average cost of a round. That being said, I am still really green with playing higher end courses, so my expectations may have been over the top.

Good layout. Good pace of play. Some greens are a bit sketchy

Lockwood Folly is a “Nice” Golf Course, that could use a little work. Carts do not have GPS, and No yardages on Sprinkler Heads, so you better have a Range Finder. Cart paths are beat up, and can be pretty bumpy at times. Golf Course is well maintained. Tee boxes, Fairways, Bunkers, and Greens are all in good shape.

Typical tree lines housing development course. But it has a good lay out. Fairway bunkers in the right places. Pretty challenging greens. Fairly fast. Overall a good place to play.

I would not play again on the weekend. Maybe during the week? Pace of play was terrible. I left after 9 holes I couldn’t wait like that.

Fairways were thin and bare in many places. Greens were patchy and full of weeds. Tee boxes were not in good shape. Course needs a lot of work.

Pace of play is an issue. A sixsome was playing in front of us and really backed everything up. Surprised this was allowed to happen. I’ve never seen this before. Course is very nice. I’ll would play here again.

I like the layout of this course. Combo of not so hard and challenging holes. Had a foursome in front of our two some. They were hitting a lot of shots. Had 2 holes open in front of them and never waived us up. We finally skipped a hole. Greens were thin on grass but still rolled true.

Played a round here on a Sunday Afternoon. We were the only people on the course, so the pace of play was great. Driving range and putting green are nice too. Fairways and rough were decent, but the greens were terrible. Lots of dead spots and they were extremely hard, almost like concrete. The bunkers were either fine or extremely hard, packed sand. The $52 we spent was likely more than I’d pay to play here again unless they fixed the greens. Fun course with lots of potential, but the greens and bunkers need work.

There are also a lot of big bear spots around the course.

I have played here about 4 times recently. Cart paths are desperately needing repairs. Badly broken up. Greens are needing attention quickly. They are on the threshold of loosing some greens. Pace of play is generally good. One round was played behind a group of women. 3 hours for front 9. Fortunately they were only playing 9 holes. No beverage cart several times. Beverage cart cannot take credit / debit cards.

Fun course, challeging but fair layout, course conditions could be better but about average for a public course.
