Sea Scape Golf Links
About
Sea Scape Golf Links in Kitty Hawk, N.C. is one of the premier courses on the Outer Banks. The course has the feel of a traditional Scottish links layout thanks to the seaside location and landscape of windswept dunes. The golf course differs from a classic open links design because of the coastal forests that accent the terrain, which provides some shelter from the ocean breezes. The vibrant blue waters contrast beautifully with the dark green treetops. The most challenging feature of the golf course is the constant up and down. Golfers will face uneven lies as well as blind shots. Sea Scape Golf Links is relatively short at 6,131 yards from the back tees but it plays longer due to the variety of elevation changes, which range from subtle to dramatic.

Great round
Sea Scape golf links was a very fun coarse. It was challenging bit fun. The fairways and greens were in great condition. It was a bit expensive in my opinion but a better value than other cheaper courses in the area.
Pretty good course
The front nine might lull u to thinking u can do something pretty good, then the back nine eats your lunch. U cannot hit into trees or anywhere tha is not in front of you, cause u basically can't look for a ball in the stuff that isn't grass. Thick thick underbrush. Ball goes in you best hit a provisional, cause you prob won't fnd anything aside from thorns that really really hurt in your fingertips.... Bring a safety pin just in case, they only hurt more the longer you wait to remove them
Nice OBX 18 holes
The course is nice and green right now. The greens have healed nicely from aeration and are rolling true. I was able to get on through golf now without a hitch and the pace was about 3.5 hours. The tips are not that long but the wind defends the course for an appreciable challenge. The food at the turn is better than most and the beer cart is punctual.
Beach style golf.
Course was in good shape. Greens nearly healed from ariation. Each hole had its own "personality" and u never really ran into other golfers. The course is only 4800 yards for women sloped 114. Made challenging by small landing areas and doglegs. Staff friendly and the beverage cart came by often. We would play this course again!
Nice course
I liked the course, although aeration of greens affected the play. Drainage wasn't at its best on some holes. Definitely would like to play it again.
Golfnow customers are treated differently
We have played this course many times over the years with very good experiences. Somehow the treatment changes when you show up registered with what was referred to repeatedly as "the Golfnow tee time". We (2 people) were there an hour early for a 1:30 tee off and during that time they had one twosome start. Based on our normal past experiences, we would have been given the clearance to tee up when ready to go. Instead, they required we wait for another twosome that had also registered for for the same "Golfnow tee time". During our play, we had a twosome and a single play through. If you prefer to enjoy a "Golfnow" round of golf without the stigma and aggravation of being second rate, I would suggest playing a different course.
Definitely will play next time
Love the wide fairways and the greens were top-notch. I'm just gutted that Mother Nature chose to dump buckets on us and forced us off after only nine holes. I will be making a point of playing here next year.
This course has great potential!
Overall the course has a great layout. Greens are nice, but the fairways were mostly dirt. Got a great deal on Golf Now. Would have been very disappointed if I had paid full rate for this course.
The course is great for any level of golfer
I always play this couse when we go to the Outter Banks.
Good layout, challenging.
For where this course is located you would expect it to play much tighter then it actually does. It is an interesting layout, challenging, I was surprised by the elevation changes. Course was well maintained greens were smooth and quick. I look forward to playing this course again.
Golfnow is a great value for this course.
Long holes to start the front.
With three par 5s, 4s and 3s each, the front plays different from the back. On the back, most par 4s.
unexpected value
This was a nice course for the money. It was in nice shape, the greens were great and the fairways are well maintained.
It was a very enjoyable course.
I'd play it again if in the area again. I recommend this course,
Great shape--fair test
Staff very friendly. Course in great shape.
Weather was great.
A nice warmup for your game on the Outer Banks
Sea Scape is the oldest course on the Outer Banks, opened around 1960 and a design oddity--Art Wall, a former Masters champion, designed this course, his only design. It's a fun little course, especially the front nine. An unusual mix of three par fives (holes, 1, 3, and 5), 3 par fours, and 3 par threes. A fairly short course that can be a good warmup if you're down on the Outer Banks to play some nearby courses.
The front nine wanders up and down through some dunes about 1/2 mile from the Atlantic Ocean. There is housing off the fairways, but you'll rarely have to worry about hitting your ball into someone's backyard. You won't see much of the ocean on this nine, but you'll definitely feel the ocean breezes. Conditioning was excellent when I played in late October 2013. I'm not as big a fan of the back nine since some holes were cut up several years ago when the course apparently sold off some land to raise some funds, but the front nine remains unchanged and is well worth a quick round, especially late in the afternoon.
Too difficult for our abilities
The course is in great shape. Most holes are very challenging. I have a handicap of 19 and shot a 105 on this course. We are used to playing 18 holes in much less than 4 hours. The slow play frustrated me. There were no marshals on the course to speed up the play.
Fun course
This course is one I try to play every year when visiting OBX. The course has changed over the years with a couple of holes shortened but still fun to play. Greens were in good shape for recently being punched. Can be challenging in the wind.
Good Course- Better Staff
Arrived at course for our GolfNow tee time and was told our time should not have been available through GolfNow because they were running a tournament- but the Pro would fit us in and take care of us. The Pro let us go out the back first and just advised us to take our time and have fun when we eventually came up on the tournament players and was very friendly. We had a great round thanks to the staff at seascape.
Outstanding course, will challenge you but not overly so
I'VS PLAYED SEASCAPE FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. COURSE IS ALWAYS WELL MAINTAINED AND THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY.
