Eagle Chase Golf Club

This course has always been one of my favorites in the Charlotte area. It is a great layout that reminds me of playing in the mountains. The course is in great shape and the greens are spectacular. My only one complaint on this day was getting held up by a couple of foursomes and a fivesome all day. I understand that it is a locals kind of course and they want to cater to the locals, but they need to be told that they have to let other groups play through. There were just 2 of us and they never had any intention of letting us play through. Sure we could maybe skip ahead several holes and then come back and play the holes we skipped but we should not have to do that. We usually play in less than 4 hours and these groups cost us an extra hour and a half.

Played here on Monday and it is in great shape. Loved the greens. Rolled fast but true to line. One of our favorite courses to play around charlotte. Will be playing here again soon!

Greens could have been cut a little closer. But this is a very nice course. Elevation changes will make you think about your clubs selection. Shot a 89

An excellent test of golf. However the speed of play on first 9 was dreadful. On second 9 we had to ask offenders to let us through to get some speed into play - where was the Marshall?

I was able to book a 2PM tee time the same morning for CHEAP! Anytime I find a round for under $30, you can't beat it.

I arrived to the course about a half-hour early, and the gentleman inside was very nice and let me tee-off early by myself.

The course offers a fair length for all handicaps. Some holes are longer and require 2 good shots to reach, and a couple give you eagle opportunities. The most challenging part of the course is the greens. It definitely would take a few rounds to get use to the speed and breaks.

Overall, I would recommend this course to anyone, 100%. The weather was perfect, the course was nice, and I was able to play 18 holes in around 3 hours.

What a fun day of golf! This course has a lot of elevation changes and wonderful views. We played on a Sunday at 9:30 am as a twosome and only had to play through one foursome to feel like we had the course all to ourselves. Straight drives are important and there is lateral hazards to hit over on many holes, but it was a playable track for someone like me who hovers right around 100 for 18 holes. The greens are well guarded with sand traps and slopes that will leave you with a challenging pitch to get up and down. Some holes it is vital to play to the safe part of the green and not attack the flag; even a small error could mean a lost ball. Greens were firm and fast, I wish we could bring that grass back to Connecticut for my home courses. It was a 45-55 minute drive from Charlotte through the farm country to get to the course, but well worth the drive. Only missing element was a bar or lounge to relax in after the round. The cart paths are steep and in need of some repair, but it did not take away from the pleasure of the round. A nice break from the gentle rolling courses around Charlotte.

The course was in great condition and the greens were awesome. Had great bounce on the greens and good speed.

This is one of my favorite golf courses. Each hole is different and the views are beautiful. The greens are large and in great condition. The cart paths are in poor condition but are being repaired. Good value for your money.

Arrived to the course an hour and a half before our tee time. Staff was able to pair us up and let us go off with another single almost right away. Very accommodating and friendly.

Course layoutis fantastic. Each hole is unique and offers its own challenges. beautiful setting winding through nature.

Fairways perfect length and greens were the best I've played recently.

This course is definitely out in the middle of nowhere and a true country vibe when you drive in. Small clubhouse and a lot of pick-up trucks in the parking lot!

I'd say this is the best bang for the buck course I have ever played in my life. I am serious.

Its Friday rate is $35, I got it for $28 on Golfnow. I feel bad paying that little for this place.

The course is both beautiful and fun. I was truly excited to see what the next hole would present. Its all you and nature. No houses, no busy roads nearby. (I included some pictures).

Greens were in great shape. Fairly quick and very firm on approach. Rolled very true. Very very little ball mark damage from the summer playing season.

Lots of elevation changes.

The thing I like about it is despite the elevation changes, the course lays out in front of your eye. There are very few blind shots, and the fairways are fairly flat given the overall landscape. You will have some very tough approach shots to elevated greens here, but also some dramatic and fun shots down to pins.

All in all, its a very fair golf course, with tough greens that have a good amount of break.

Yes the cart paths are due for a major fix-up (the course is not walkable). But you can drive right along the path and avoid the rough pathways. Tee boxes are a little rough around the edges, but for the most part, anything that you see that is disheveled is well out of play. The bulk of the course is nicely taken care of.

Just a beautiful place. Well worth the drive, and I can't wait to return.

Bargain - plain and simple. Course is worth every penny. Challenging in some areas and a decent length.

Hidden Gem, a bit of drive from Charlotte, but worth it. Greens were great and the whole course was awesome shape. Cart paths need work, could use some better food options. Would not stop me from going back by any stretch. My hope is it stays quiet so it does not get to crowded. Played the course from the back tees, not to long and challenging enough if you are not hitting it well. For golf, 5 stars

The course is out in the middle of farmland but it well worth the drive. I drove from Matthews and it was a pleasant drive. The course was in great shape with lots of elevation changes and great views of the surrounding area. Greens rolled true, maybe a bit slower than I'm used to as I left a number of putts just short. The had a nice range but no clubhouse to speak of. The had chips, pre-made sandwiches and a cooler full of drinks. The is fine for me as I rarely eat during a round but there's no real place to eat lunch and have drinks after on premises nor likely nearby.

I have played this course numerous times and have found the greens to be consistently in great shape every time. Not an easy course but well worth the trip from Charlotte.

I have been playing eagle chase for over 25years.Great course with excellent greens and fairways.Super customer service! I don't have relatives there ,ha ha.Just have great golfing memories there.Thanks Wally and Sam!

The course was in absolutely incredible shape. Pace of play was fast and the price for a Saturday was too low to pass up. Worth the trip on all accounts!!

It will take you a little while to drive out there, but well worth it. The weekends are busier(as all courses) but still a decent pace. If you can get out there during the week, you will hardly see other golfers. Everything about the course is great. Very nice from tee to green. With online booking you can get some phenomenal prices. The regular rates are very good as well. They are plugging the greens very soon, so make sure to call and ask.
