Rose Hill Golf Club

The clubhouse was great, delicious lunch, friendly people. The difficulty was in scheduling the tee times. We were a group of three, but before we even teed off, there was a twosome and even a single, waiting behind us. We allowed three different single golfers to play through, until we had enough. Our 9 hole time was quickly coming up on 2 1/2 hours just because of all the times we stopped to let others play through. The course was what you would typically expect for a resort area course, neither exceptional nor poor. Fair layout from both the center tees and the forward tees, no unusual or tricky spots. After the round, the cart guy told us that the nicer weather that afternoon prompted a lot of walk-ins and the club house just sent them out one at a time.

Course plays better than the average review it receives.. my wife is an occasional golfer and really enjoyed the front 9 we played. Good value for the money.

Really enjoyed our first round at Rosehill. Greens were fast and fairways were decent. You do get punished if you hit into the rough. Bermuda grass is thick and you had to be on top of your ball to see it.

Overall, great value for the money. Would definitely play it again and recommend it to friends!

You can tell they have put a lot of work into the course over the past year. Marshall kept the pace of play to under 4 hours. Greens rolled perfectly. Couple of very small, patchy parts but you can tell the course is on the come up and not far at all from where they want to be. 9/10, would def recommend to anyone

Played 18 then returned day later to play. 18 first day and 9 second day. Played with my wife. Both days were perfect weather. Course has improved as previous reviews said course in poor shape. Greens very nice and fast. Course fairways still need work. New development team is working to make improvements. Looking forward to seeing it next year. Good value for $$.

We played twice this week at Rose Hill. Greens are in very good condition. When you hit the green the ball stick. Had some half moon divots to fixed. The fairway in good condition also, very few spots. The course has came a long way since July 2023. The new management team is a keeper.

Greens and bunkers good shape. I had to move ball in fairways as a little thin in places. I payed in 2:45

Plesently surprised as course was much nicer than expected. Very friendly staff. Good value for the money. Course is in good shape. A couple of the tee boxes were a little sparse. Will definitely be back.

Enjoyed my round - threesome played in 3 hrs. and 15 minutes.

Course has improved over the past year. Greens are slow but in great condition. Grass is still thin in places. Based on price I would play again.

Rose Hill GC has come a long way. Greens are shaping up nicely. They are a bit easy -- as they rebuild some, hopefully they will put some undulation in them. Fairways are so-so -- some good, some need some work. Overwatering and poor drainage is impacting many on the front 9. Tee boxes -- hopefully these get the next round of attention. But the focus on the greens has produced awesome results. Highly friendly staff. Food -- independent restaurant -- not in line with what golfers need. Keep that in mind. Beer and food are $$$.

Only complaint on the layout... hole #11 is too long into the wind out of the west!

I appreciate that the par 3s are varying distances. They are pretty hard par 3s compared to the rest of the course.

Needs a little work. Most of the greens were very nice. Wet but not managements fault. I will return.

I loved everything about it. Very friendly staff and the course was challenging and in great shape. Next time I’m in that area I would definitely play there again.

I've played Rose Hill twice before in the past 5 years and the conditions were awful. I believe they have new ownership and/or management now.

Course conditions are MUCH better than they were, and I would dare to say very good. Still some weeds on the fairway, but playable. Greens were very good. Bunkers acceptable. Tee boxes mostly good but need cutting shorter. Rough was challenging as you could walk right past your ball and not see it.

They were short on carts and i had to wait 10 minutes past my tee time before i had one.

My biggest issue is the food and drink situation. No beverage cart at all. The restaurant at the course is separately owned and operated and for whatever reason don’t offer quick bites for players. I showed up early to grab a bite and waited almost 30 minutes for a $20 hotdog.

Want a quick bite to go after 9 holes? Too bad.

Overall, worth the price for golf but eat first and bring water.

Course in good shape and was the best value in the Hilton Head area. The only problem was all the fees that Golf Now charged. It was better not to go through Golf Now. I thought Golf Now was supposed to be finding golfers good deals.
