About
Rose Hill Golf Club in Bluffton is situated amongst plentiful live oaks draped with Spanish moss. There are also sparkling, crystal-clear lakes that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a part of Rose Hill Plantation, giving it a truly Southern look and feel. Most of the holes are flat and straightforward but there are a few tricky doglegs to keep the course interesting. The layout features formidable par 3s that will test even the best players and a notably difficult par 5 that measures just over 600 yards. The challenging holes are balanced with player-friendly features that make it versatile enough for a wide range of skill levels. Four sets of tees, the longest coming to just over 6,900 yards, make Rose Hill Golf Club even more accessible.

Greens were in very bad shape. Some fairways rough.
Need to work on greens. Very bad. Fairways decent but far from excellent. Staff friendly and helpful.

Although a little better greens are terrible. Fairways are better but still 70% bare.

Best for price
This course has a really cool layout with a couple challenging holes. The staff was very kind and helpful. The only downside to this course is it’s greens and fairway maintenance. If this course was maintained better it would probably be one my favorite places to play.

Excellent layout. Fairways are decent. Many greens were beat up. Staff said they are going to be working on the greens. Still enjoyable

Greens are dead!
Greens on most holes were dead. Huge black spots. A lot of the tee boxes also dead. Fairways ok but mo maintained. Sand traps muddy or just had minimal sand. Over all very poorly maintained golf course that was not worth the green fees paid!. People were friendly but still will not go back.

Most of the greens were gone. No grass and no errors to reseed, aerate, Fairways wrere shaggy at best.

Think twice.
All courses we played in this area had very bad greens. No grass just rolled dirt. Courses on HH are over priced so for the money it was ok.

Too expensive for what is offered
It’s a $20 course charging $60……Greens are unputtable….no grass on most.
Understand there are new owners & they haven’t found someone to teakettle over the restaurant,so it is closed, and they are working to improve the course…….but the current conditions should be reflected in the price.

Disappointing
Our first round of the year was a near disaster. Chose the course by location and price.
Initially it was OK but as we played the greens got progressively worse. Some were virtually unplayable.

Great price
I knew coming here the course was in a somewhat tough condition. The greens were poor. But I spoke with the greenskeeper and told him I do like the layout, the price and convenience to where we are. He explained that last fall was when the greens had the problem and this spring hasn’t helped the conditions. But he said they do have a plan to fix them and he asked me to return and play after they do the work. I said I would. I have to give him credit for understanding what’s going on and I didn’t want to pile on. I will be back. Thank you for the courtesy.

This course was completely average. There is little to recommend it, other than it was close to people we were to meet later.
I didn't think the course conditions were up to the standards of other local courses. But I'd heard some comments about winter weather. So continued average.

Oh My
Course was in terrible condition. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in terrible shape. The greens were especially bad, as several consisted of green-dyed dirt rather than grass. This course was a huge disappointment, and at $60 something per person, it was extremely overpriced. This is one of the worst conditioned courses I have ever played. At a quarter-of-a-grand for a foursome, it felt like a crime was perpetrated. Understand the course is in the process of changing ownership; it will take a complete season to repair the course. Will not play again. Golf Now should discontinue this course on its offerings.
Fun Course
We’ve played Rose Hill a number of times. We enjoy the layout, it’s fun to play and challenging. We teed off at 10:30 and walked off the course at 2:15, great pace of play but with not many we saw on the course. The only issue we had was the shape of the greens. They were quite burned out or waterlogged and some had very little living grass on them. Hopefully the warmer weather will help them rejuvenate over the next few months. We’ll be back for sure. It’s a great value for the money. Thanks to all the friendly staff they are a joy to queen with.

Rough greens
Played this occasionally for 4 or 5 years. Greens seemed to be going in the right direction, with improvement year over year. Something happened and the greens are in the roughest shape I recall. So bad, in fact, I will abandon my next T Time in favor of another course. I don't plan on returning for at least a year or 3.

Not even close to worth the price
The greens are absolutely horrible, they should stay off of the greens if they ever want them to come back to normal. This course is definitely not worth the $50 to play it
