About
Rose Hill Golf Club in Bluffton is situated amongst plentiful live oaks draped with Spanish moss. There are also sparkling, crystal-clear lakes that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a part of Rose Hill Plantation, giving it a truly Southern look and feel. Most of the holes are flat and straightforward but there are a few tricky doglegs to keep the course interesting. The layout features formidable par 3s that will test even the best players and a notably difficult par 5 that measures just over 600 yards. The challenging holes are balanced with player-friendly features that make it versatile enough for a wide range of skill levels. Four sets of tees, the longest coming to just over 6,900 yards, make Rose Hill Golf Club even more accessible.

We hear they are under new ownership and they have some real work to do. Front 9 was in laughable shape! Back 9 was much better but still in desperate need.

Spring conditions
We are down from Maine and got what we expected. The grass is starting to grow again and the staff was out working removing the pine cones. The layout was great. A few of the residents were walking the course for excercise and the way I hit the ball, they should have been wearing hard hats, lol. My wife and I enjoyed our first round since October.

Not worth the money
I’m going to give Rose hill the benefit of the doubt and say the course condition was only due to it being February. Otherwise the I couldn’t t tell the difference between fairway and rough. The ground was either rock hard or pure mud. The greens were in horrible condition, with uneven grass and dead spots leading to no real golf to be played. The pace on the front nine was extremely slow, apparently due to a scramble that had started on the 13th hole to avoid backing up the rest of the course, which didn’t succeed. And no starter.
If you’re looking for a neighborhood golf course with no rules then this is your place. Don’t expect much out of the course.

The staff was friendly
The course was in poor condition, as well as the greens. I would not recommend playing it, with so many nicer courses in HHI.

Golf review
Course was in decent shape considering all the rain they had recently

Cart only on front nine put a damper on round.
Because of 2 days of rain front nine was cart path only. Greens were not in good shape with mold and dead grass. I like the layout of the course. Cart paths need work. Overall I expected better course conditions.

Terrible Course
There was NO grass on the tees, fairways or greens. All tee shots and fairway shots were off mud. The greens were PAINTED green, very little grass. There was long tufted grass on the greens, no smooth rolling putts. Unbelievable. This place needs new management and put significant money into the course.
This place needs to close, Every green fee is robbery. We have played mini putt courses in better shape.

Terrible Course Condition
We have played Rose Hill before and looked forward to playing it again. Unfortunately, we found the course to be in deplorable condition. The tee-boxes were totally distressed, there was a fair amount of standing water in the fairways and bunkers even though it hadn't rained in several days, and the greens had very little grass. The pace of play was great because there was hardly anyone playing and the bar/restaurant was closed. The staff in the pro shop and bag drop was very nice and polite though.

Soggy conditions, spotty greens
Played on a sunny, warm day and there had been no rain for several days prior, yet the front 9 and parts of the back 9 were soggy. When I say soggy, it was wet and marshy in some places. A 90 degree cart rule was in effect, stay on the cart paths. Balls and clubs were always muddy. Some of the tees had zero grass, and were also soggy. I can only assume they are aggressively watering at night.
The course has a nice layout but it was disappointing to constantly be wiping mud from the ball.

The tee boxes were bad, the fairways were bad and the greens were bad. Other than that it's okay

Ok value for price
Muddy fairways but it did rain the night before. Greens below average. Tee boxes all muddy. Not the best drainage system. Nice wide fairways
