About
Rose Hill Golf Club in Bluffton is situated amongst plentiful live oaks draped with Spanish moss. There are also sparkling, crystal-clear lakes that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a part of Rose Hill Plantation, giving it a truly Southern look and feel. Most of the holes are flat and straightforward but there are a few tricky doglegs to keep the course interesting. The layout features formidable par 3s that will test even the best players and a notably difficult par 5 that measures just over 600 yards. The challenging holes are balanced with player-friendly features that make it versatile enough for a wide range of skill levels. Four sets of tees, the longest coming to just over 6,900 yards, make Rose Hill Golf Club even more accessible.

Good layout bad condition.
Whole golf course had very patchy grass. Including greens. Nothing wrong with the layout. I am sure at one time it was a nice course. Needs $ or a new a superintendent.

Worth the Price!
The rates were very reasonable. The course is in good shape. They are working on improvements since new management has taken over,, but we would certainly play here again!

A nice round
My wife and I decided to play off of Hilton Head Island as the cost was much higher than before Covid when we last came down. Have played Rose Hill many years ago and wanted to try it again. The course was in good shape with the greens cut short and running fairly fast. It is under new management and there are noticeable improvements. We look forward to playing the course in the future to see further improvements.

On the Way Back
After reading some recent reviews, I was a little concerned about the condition of the course. I was pleased to find the course in pretty decent overall shape. I like the layout of the course and with the astronomical increase in green fees on the Island, Rose Hill provides a very nice value. As a final note, I had last played the course about nine months ago, and the course, and the greens in particular, have improved considerably.

Flat, easy course -- but slow play hurt experience
Rose Hill was in decent shape for a dry late October round. Not too tight, and flat lies make for a pretty easy round. I grew frustrated by the slow play, and because the price is good, seems that many hackers show up to play here. The marshal needs to enforce the triple bogey rule.

Good deal for the money
Had a great time playing Rose Hill. Was a bit concerned based on other reviews , but figured we’d give it a shot. There were a couple rough spots, but in general course was fine. Definitely seems to be moving in the right direction. We enjoyed the layout. Had an afternoon tee time, and our foursome finished in less than 4 hours . Cheaper then most area courses and would play again.

Coming back
Consider the recent problems with ownership before you judge this course. Unfortunately Rose Hill fell pray to management that failed to take care of the course. There is now strong evidence showing this classic is on the way back. There will be a year or two before it is completely back but if we give it some support it will be the course it used to be. Please play Rose Hill so we will all have another high quality choice when in the Bluffton/Hilton Head area.

Worth playing
Great layout., but greens still need help. The most courteous staff on any course on or off island. Course is in better shape than a year ago and getting better. We’ll go back.

Nice Course
After reading some reviews from 8+ months ago and those within the last few weeks, I decided to give Rose Hill a try. I arrived 20 minutes early and was told I would be able to tee off immediately and to my surprise I was able to play alone so I was able to really take in this course. The fairways were in decent shape as they were recently mowed. The rough was not forgiving as it is rather deep so it wasn't easy to find your ball but it wasn't a thick heavy grass so hitting out of it was okay. A few of the greens are fighting with some fungus and some are dealing with weed control but all were very playable. I believe the new management is making big strides to improve this golf course. It is a great layout and I think it's a good golf course overall. I look forward to playing it again in the near future and I recommend to give it a try.

Fun course
Course was in good shape other than some high grass on the end of the back 9. Could really tell they were working to improve the greens but they were not unplayable
