Rose Hill Golf Club in Bluffton is situated amongst plentiful live oaks draped with Spanish moss. There are also sparkling, crystal-clear lakes that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a part of Rose Hill Plantation, giving it a truly Southern look and feel. Most of the holes are flat and straightforward but there are a few tricky doglegs to keep the course interesting. The layout features formidable par 3s that will test even the best players and a notably difficult par 5 that measures just over 600 yards. The challenging holes are balanced with player-friendly features that make it versatile enough for a wide range of skill levels. Four sets of tees, the longest coming to just over 6,900 yards, make Rose Hill Golf Club even more accessible.

Decent course for the money

Decent average course. The course was in decent condition for this time of year. We enjoyed playing it but don’t know if I would play again. For me it wasn’t terribly interesting or scenic. Pace of play front nine was great and then the back nine it became very slow. And we waited every hole. Good value for your money on Golf Now. A good course for a warmup round:

Average. For this time of year

Greens not up to par

Dormant fairways were a surprise. Have been on other courses that were much greener. Pace was slow but not unexpected. Played here 30 years ago in summer and remembered it being in much better shape. Staff was great

Great Course for the price

Totally enjoyed our day at Rose Hill, Course is in good shape for March in SC. New bunkers added around greens were well placed to add to an already moderately challenging course.

Holes closed without notice

First time played this year

Greens were rough and two holes were closed to to sand trap rework without notice to our group before we went out.

There definitely should have been notification regarding closed holes or some reduced charge however, nothing was offered

Rose Hill Deal

I’ve been playing this course for 30-35 years since coming to HHI as a teenager. It’s still one of my favorites. On island courses have drastically gone down hill while at the same time more than doubling their fees. For the amount of play Rose Hill gets, it’s always been in very good condition when I have played there. It’s hard to pay $120-$150 to play courses on the island, when I can drive 15 more minutes and play a course in as good or even better conditions.

Rose Hill

The 1st hole was closed, and most of the traps were under repair. I was disappointed that this info was not reported prior to arrival at the course. I was also disappointed that I was not offered a discount due to these conditions.

Course upgrades

I played recently as winter is coming to a close. The course is in the process of reworking most, if not all bunkers. The old materials have been removed and replaced with new drain pipe, gravel and sand to come. The cart paths could use some work. The layout is nice.
