About
Rose Hill Golf Club in Bluffton is situated amongst plentiful live oaks draped with Spanish moss. There are also sparkling, crystal-clear lakes that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a part of Rose Hill Plantation, giving it a truly Southern look and feel. Most of the holes are flat and straightforward but there are a few tricky doglegs to keep the course interesting. The layout features formidable par 3s that will test even the best players and a notably difficult par 5 that measures just over 600 yards. The challenging holes are balanced with player-friendly features that make it versatile enough for a wide range of skill levels. Four sets of tees, the longest coming to just over 6,900 yards, make Rose Hill Golf Club even more accessible.

Poor Conditions
Played earlier in the week and the conditions on the course were sub par at best. While I can understand some puddles due to recent rain (2 days prior to playing), it seemed like most of the fairways were either mud-like or hard like cement. Lots of bare spots throughout. Played the course a few times over the past few months and the conditions were always good, so not sure what happened this past week.

Layout is excellent, Conditions..not so good
My wife and I liked the price and the layout of the course. Everyone was very nice. The foursome in front of us was VERY SLOOOOOOW! The fairways and rough needed seeding. Frequently had bare lies. Even if you played lift, clean and place, had trouble finding a suitable lie.

We played with 2 other golfers and had a great day. Ground is a little wet , but the course is in excellent shape.

Course is normally good
Hilton Head had lots of rain last week therefore course was very wet and muddy only played 12 holes today

Amazing improvement!
I come down to Hilton Head every winter from Michigan. I played Rose Hill two years ago and the greens were so bad that I never figured to play this course again.
HOWEVER, someone told me that significant improvements had been made on the greens...so my wife and I played it today to check it out.
I have to say that it was like night and day! Every green is in good shape and even the fairways were pretty green for this time of year.
Kudos to whoever decided to put the effort into this course...the layout is very nice and it certainly warrants play now.

Greatly improved
It is like a different course from last year. Played over a year ago and although the layout was great, the greens were terrible. After reading recent good reviews I decided to try again and the greens have improved greatly. Will play again soon.

Slightly improving
Greens significant improvement. Fairways and t boxes have tree limbs, multiple divots, no amenities in t boxes
