Rose Hill Golf Club

Don’t waste money playing this course. Many other courses within minutes of this one with MUCH better conditions, pricing, amenities and equipment.

The greens have divots and large hikes, unable to put. Fairways have clusters of weeds and dirt mounds. Bunkers have weeds.

Very, very poor course.

Have not played this course since last year. Nothing has changed. The greens need work and the grass was high. A good portion of the fairways had not been cut in weeks. At least 6 inches of growth.. Front nine greens have improved. Back nine greens were hard scrabble and sand. More sand than grass.. Great place to practice your your game.. Beautiful clubhouse. Should have put that money into the course.

I have friends who will not play this course because of the greens.

Perhaps it is too early in the season?

There is very little grass on the fairways.

The greens are unplayable.

The last time we played Rose Hill, the course was in sad shape, but we really liked the layout.

Regretably, things have not improved. .The greens are not in good shape, they have black mould, "lousy" grass, no grass on sections... The fairways are not smooth. They are trying - I see signs of fertiliser throuhout. Granted, we were not able to finish the 18 holes due to weather and had to stop atter the sixth hole (we did receive a rain check for 9 holes)

At the price paid, I expected better conditions.

This course is either on the way down or trying to get off the mat, but either way, it’s not a good experience. You can lose balls in the fairway and first cut easily. Greens are very poor to marginal.

Will not play again until major changes are made.

We have vacationed in Hilton Head every year for the past five years. Rose Hill has struggled over the last few years.

The new clubhouse is great. New carts are great. Sand traps were the best maintained of all the courses we have played this year.

Fairways could be cut and the greens really need attention, Lots of weeds and some kind of animal digging for grubs and staff had not been out to clean them up even though our Tee Time was at 9 a.m.

If they spend a few dollars on the green it will be a great course for the money.

I wish I could recommend this course because it really is a nice layout, but between gofer tracks in the fairways and a couple of greens; evidence of rodents and/or birds excavating fairways for grubs; and a total lack of grass on 20 to 70 % of EVERY green, it is hard to say “go play this course”. They have a very nice, brand new club house, so I hope they will now put some money into the course itself. If you are looking for “Cheap and cheery” here it is, otherwise: Good luck, I hope they revive the course!

Surprisingly nice course, Really good value for our first round of golf for 2019 (being Canadians). Very friendly and welcoming staff. Would happily play again as we start our season. Fairways a bit grassy, but we teed up our fairway shots. Greens are ok, but not yet at their best. Played round with my wife in 3.50 hours.

Overall a decent place to play a very casual round of golf. Challenging enough to make it playable but not overly difficult. Greens were in really rough shape though. Definitely would not pay full price to play. Wasn’t busy and we got through in about 3:45.

As a Rose Hill resident I've played this course many times. Andy Stephens has made a number of improvements from new carts, refreshed bunkers, and proper mowing to cleaning up the landscaping. However, the course continues to be in below average conditions. More than 1/3 of the greens are patchy and missing grass. Getting a true roll is out of the question. Several of the greens simply need to be closed and redone. The staff is friendly and the service is good. The new pro shop and clubhouse is a plus. The GolfNow price and convenience makes it worth playing but the conditions are generally poor. I'm hoping that the summer growing season brings the course to life.

What I imagine was once a nice track has fallen into disrepair. Greens are in bad shape, one par three is almost unplayable. However, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and I hope they can get the course back in shape. I’ll check it out again in another year, but I’m not sure I would play it again this season.

Always liked Rose Hill, but to pay $40 and have numerous issues with the greens is not right.

You can’t putt on this course. Even at $29 it’s overpriced. Spend an extra $10 and go elsewhere

Enjoyed playing Rose Hill again - the course is interesting and has diversity. The greens need some help but it was a fun outing.

Michael was awesome and staff very kind. I took my son out who is 5 and we had a great time. The course conditions were just okay, some greens badly burned up but we had a great time regardless and enjoyed our day immensely! Thank you!

A number of the greens were in poor condition, but still were okay.

Good value for the budget concious golfer if you get it for a discounted rate on line. The layout is interesting enough to challenge the intermefiate/average golfer...but the greens are in rough shape on most holes. Value point is $30 to $34, not more.
