About
Rose Hill Golf Club in Bluffton is situated amongst plentiful live oaks draped with Spanish moss. There are also sparkling, crystal-clear lakes that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a part of Rose Hill Plantation, giving it a truly Southern look and feel. Most of the holes are flat and straightforward but there are a few tricky doglegs to keep the course interesting. The layout features formidable par 3s that will test even the best players and a notably difficult par 5 that measures just over 600 yards. The challenging holes are balanced with player-friendly features that make it versatile enough for a wide range of skill levels. Four sets of tees, the longest coming to just over 6,900 yards, make Rose Hill Golf Club even more accessible.

Very challenging
Greens are firm and can be fast. Course
Challenges all aspect of for game long and short
Needs help
Staff were great, from arrival and club drop, to pro shop attendant. Previous heavy rain restricted cart to cart path only, course was nearly unplayable, but can't control the weather. But first green... yikes. Horrible. Dead patches, sparse, bumpy. So, tons of money to build new club house and incredibly poor course conditions. Nice layout, but maintenance severely lacking. I'd read previous reviews, for past couple of years, and knew greens were poor but still poor? After years of poor reviews, and it's still poor? What is Brown Management doing?
Not so rosy
Rose Hill is a good layout but is in sub-par condition. Greens and Fairways are sparse. Nor worth the low fee to play.
Terrible Course conditions
I play about 150 to 175 rounds per year and this round today at Rose Hill has to rate as the worst round in the last 10 years due to course conditions. Greens are sad to even look at, fairways look like the rough in other courses that I play. It was billed at $25 per round or $55 total for 2 of us and not even worth that. In addition to add insult to injury I received two emails from Golf Now charging me $110 twice!
Good course and is getting better
We have played this course twice in the last week. The only complaint we have is with a few (4) greens. Obviously repairs or rebuild are required. They are just opening up a fantastic new clubhouse and proshop (first day, people were in the trailer now in the new facility). I expect that this course will quickly work on the greens issue and it will be FIRST CLASS!
Terrific people and great pace of play
Not many amenities but the brand new clubhouse was just opened so likely this will improve.
Greens are a work in progress but playable.
Fun Casual Round
Pleasant day for a no pressure round. Price was good and about right for the condition of the greens. Greens played much better than they looked.
Great course
Took my 5 year old son and had a great time!!! very nice course
Still Needs TLC
We love the layout, challenge and playability of this course and the new owners are terrific, but the course still needs some TLC, with bare spots on some greens and fairways. The last time we played it, about a month ago, it was starting to look really great, but when we played it today, it had taken a step backward. We haven’t had a lot of rain, so maybe it’s that. We are rooting so hard for Rose Hill to succeed, and they have a beautiful new clubhouse opening in November, so we will keep coming and supporting them.
Poorly Maintained
Rose Hill has a very good layout but this course is in dire need of much love and attention. 30% of the greens are pretty much unplayable. I wouldn't recommend playing this course in its current condition unless you're more concerned with hitting shots and aren't concerned with scoring.
Improving
Course is a little rough. It has been improving each time I play. Keep up the good work!!
