Rose Hill Golf Club

4th playing the course new ownership doing great course conditions coming along.

I haven’t played this course in a few years The last time I played the course it was not in great shape but I liked the layout and the price. I had family come into town and they asked about the course and we decided to try it out. I had a morning tee time that I set up in advance a week earlier. They had no record of my tee time and the guy behind the counter was rude and acted as if we were lying about calling. He ended up putting us on anyway. The flow of the course was good. The kids helping with carts were great. The course overall was fun but the greens we awful. Big pits every where. Large black ruts. Wasn’t even worth putting at times. I know this happens at times but the prices should be adjusted when it’s like that. How can you charge the same as other courses when yours is in that shape. I was embarrassed to have brought my family there to play.

Was told aeration was performed two weeks ago and greens had healed pretty good. What they failed to mention was the greens condition was bad which had nothing to do with the aeration process.

The staff at Rose Hill are doing excellent work! The greens are vastly improved with on 15 that is real in need of TLC. The greens are far better now then other courses in the area. The best layout in the area and worth playing.

My wife and I are high-handicappers who live on Hilton Head Island. We're always looking for a good value in order to play more golf. We've always liked Rose Hill because they offer lower rates with good availability. For a long time, Rose Hill has been plagued with some bad putting greens. At this point, it seems to me that most are OK, with only two or three really sub-standard. I'm not sure why they haven't fixed the worst one by now. On the other hand, the greenside bunkers are in better shape than some of the high priced courses in the area. We enjoy the course as a whole. It's comparable to other Bluffton courses. The lower price seems a reasonable exchange for a only a few substandard greens.

Very good experience—course layout, conditions, — great value!

First green was rough, but overall excellent value.

They have done a nice job upgrading the club house, now they need to spend some money on the course. The fairways were in bad shape and a few of the greens had bare patches on them.

People and staff were very friendly. Prices were very fair. It appears they are trying to improve the course. The green are pretty rough at most holes, but it does appear that they are trying to improve them. Played pretty much ready golf all day.

For the price, no complaints.

The course layout was nice and played easily with open fairways and good landing areas. There were bunkers and water hazards to make things interesting on your approach. Fairways and rough were in average to above average condition, but the bunkers were hard and packed, and the greens were terrible. Grass was mostly dead or missing on the greens and they were sanded. The putts would not travel in a straight line at all. The greens may improve as the grass grows in during the summer, but we won't be here to see.

Enjoyed the course, but fairways and greens are not well cared for, staff very friendly.

Looking to give this place a fair chance given the poor reviews. However the course is worse than I imagined.

Price is great but super disappointed that they still have not addressed the greens. Some of the greens are just dead and 0 great ones.

This course was originally management by a company that did not take care of the course. Course management was taken over by another group so I had hope that they would fix up and bring the course back to good condition. However, the course remains in terrible condition. Many of the greens were dirt, no grass, and had patches of fungus. There was debris and broken branches all over the fairways. There was no sign of any maintenance people doing any routine clean up or course maintenance. Even though $40 for a round may be inexpensive, don't bother playing this course. Extremely poor condition. A major disappointment!

The course wasn’t crowded st all. The fairways were ok but the greens were burnt in many areas. They have spent a lot of money fixing up the clubhouse. I hope they begin to spend the money now fixing up the course.
