Rose Hill Golf Club in Bluffton is situated amongst plentiful live oaks draped with Spanish moss. There are also sparkling, crystal-clear lakes that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a part of Rose Hill Plantation, giving it a truly Southern look and feel. Most of the holes are flat and straightforward but there are a few tricky doglegs to keep the course interesting. The layout features formidable par 3s that will test even the best players and a notably difficult par 5 that measures just over 600 yards. The challenging holes are balanced with player-friendly features that make it versatile enough for a wide range of skill levels. Four sets of tees, the longest coming to just over 6,900 yards, make Rose Hill Golf Club even more accessible.

Storm damage had a role in course conditions

I liked the layout. The fairways were not cut nor the rough. Seems workers were cleaning up debris from the storm. Greens were average with too many weeds apparent. I would give it another try next year.

Good course, good value

Course was in good condition fairways and greens were long. I understand that the grass has stopped growing and it has to kept long. Couldn’t get much spin on the ball. Enjoyed the round.

Rose Hill - A pleasant surprise

After playing several courses on HH island while on vacation, I decided to try a value course and Rose Hill was very enjoyable. Played under 3 hours by myself on a Friday afternoon. The layout offers some interest and greens were a bit slow, but decent shape. Check in was quick as was the starter letting me go out earlier than my tee time. Very good value course.

Much improved

The conditions here have greatly improved from years prior. The current management team has done a good job of turning around what was, in my opinion, one of the weaker courses in the area. Now I can say I would definitely come and play again if it maintains and continues to improve on it's current condition.

Constantly Improving

This course has come a long way in the last couple of years. Conditions are now quite good. Good layout. Greens and fairways and tees were good. Highly recommended.

Generally speaking in good shape. Most tees were green and well kept. Only downside is that the greens were very shaggy and needed to be cut. Will definitely be back.

Could be nice; wasn’t

This was the cheapest option on Golfnow for a reason. This course is in rough shape. Greens were so slow and inconsistent, carts paths need major work and generally needs much work. Too bad because the layout is nice.

Great course!

Challenging for both skill levels. On a whim booked this as we were returning home to Ga. Staff was excellent. Course was in good shape especially since Hurricane Debby had just gone through. Will play this one again!

Nope

This course is terrible. Worst course I’ve played in the Hilton Head area. Driving range is absolutely pitiful. (And they make you pay extra for balls)

The super friendly people and the carts were the best parts!

Back from vacation

I played in our MGA this past Saturday after being away for 3 weeks. This course layout with water on many holes, and tree lined faiways and water on many holes is a pleasure to play. I was encouraged to see that the greens are in great shape and the course continues to improve under IGM's care. If you have not been here to play this course come on over whether you are local or just visiting the Low Country. You will find the Pro staff and the Fair Winds Bar and Grill staff very friendly and egar to serve you.

TERRIBLE SERVICE

I played 9 holes with a 4:50 PM tee time. At 6:20 PM my wife and I drove up to the 9th tee box. At that time two carts were driving towards us from the clubhouse. One of them was Joe Rampala (not sure of spelling), the cart attendant.

As I was walking up onto the tee box he stops and asks us "is there a problem?" We looked at each other puzzled and said "No."

He said, "well you were just here 10 minutes ago, why are you playing this hole again?" We both said, "No, we weren't here 10 minutes ago." He insisted that we were, insinuating that we were lying, and that we were the last people on the course that he was waiting on.

It became heated. Sadly, this is the second negative interaction with this gentlemen. The first time was because he wanted me, my daughter, and another gentleman off the range at 5:20 PM after we had just purchased our range balls at 5 PM because he wanted to sweep the range and go home.

We have purchased memberships the last two years but will no longer support this golf course. It's not a surprise that they are losing money every month. Rushing your customers (and members) off the course so the attendant can go home early is not the way to grow revenue. We asked for meeting with the management....that was 8 days ago....still waiting.

CUSTOMER SERVICE should be right there with the condition of the course.

Perhaps this would have not escalated to this point if the issue was resolved by the course management both quickly and face to face. Before it gets to this or any social platform.

Since this is the second incident with this employee that is "Passionate" about his job, with that Passion comes responsibility to the CUSTOMER / MEMBER.

There is WAY too much competition in this area to be losing Customers (or MEMBERS for God's sake !!) to have this happen and not be taken care of by the Management IMMEDIATELY.

Nice track

Rose Hill is recovering nicely. Course is great. Golfer Must be able to shape all their shots. This course is not a bang driver and go find the ball somewhere in the fairway. Rough is to be avoided or a possible lost shot. Next time in Hilton Head area, give Rose Hill a try. Bar and restaurant also worth a stop.

Great Day at Rose Hill

Made a tee time at 7:15 in the morning for 8am, showed up at 7:50 and was out by 8am. Course was not crowded. We played course in well under 4 hours with cart path only rule due to heavy rain night before (probably would have done it in 3 hours if we could have taken cart on fairways). The course was in nice shape - a few tees were a little bare and one or two greens were not pristine. The friendly ranger came by twice while we playing and offered us ice cold waters, reminding us to stay hydrated. This course is so much better than a few years ago. It is one of our favorite courses in the area.

Much, Much Improved Course

Little things matter. Great course layout, greens in excellent shape on 16 greens, overall good fairways, great starter/marshall, excellent cart people, clean organized pro shop. Only negative is water in sand traps, and missing water cooler on two holes. Lots of positive changes over the past few years.
