About
Timberlake Country Club in Chapin sits on the shores of Lake Murray, just outside of Columbia in the Midlands of South Carolina. The classic design is reminiscent of traditional Scottish links courses, featuring a combination of water and pot bunkers as well as large grassy swales. The golf course sprawls across rolling hills, which provide plenty of contours and elevation changes. From the elevated tees, golfers will have a dramatic view of the rugged landscape. The golf course is mostly open though there are a few stands of mature trees that can be troublesome if you're not careful. The cavernous bunkers and carefully molded mounding present formidable challenges that will test even the best golfers. In addition to the golf course, Timberlake also offers a full driving range and practice green as well as tennis courts and an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Good Round for February
Great course although they use gas powered carts and this was was especially smelly. Everyone in the pro shop was excellent, helpful and friendly!
Very good value when using a Golfnow hot deal.
Each hole is interesting and has its own distinct character. Course conditions are fairly good. Greens are a little bumpy in a few places but they generally roll true and speeds are consistent. Some of the holes can be quite challenging if the wind is whipping across Lake Murray.
Timberlake tough but FAIR
Played on a fairly cool and windy day. Had the course practically to ourselves. GREAT layout, nothing easy about the course but nothing unfair. Course was challenging and in very good condition for winter, the traps had very little sand but in the golf courses defense there has been a lot of recent heavy rain. Staff was amazing and friendly, will definitely return anytime we are in the area. Fantastic layout.
Pretty Course
Course plays VERY hard and is narrow in places and ball must be placed exactly in place. The hard part about the course is green speed. They are FAST and undulating, you better putt like a PRO. Many 3-4 putts you will see on many greens my friends.

Hidden Gem
Hard to find in a remote area but a great find. Better be ready to hit your drives straight as the fairways are challengingly narrow. Well taken care of,
Beautiful Views
The views of Lake Murray were impressive .
The score cards showed a "Yellow" senior women's tee box but we never saw one ?????????

This is a must play course ! Elevation changes , water, sand, has it all!

We were welcomed by a friendly staff member. As always, course fairways were in great shape, even after tropical storm Hermine came through two days before. Greens were fast, but consistent on all. Very scenic around Lake Murray. One of my favorites.
Well worth the money
Course in great shape greens are fast and is very nice looking at the Lake Murray very much worth the price and the trip to play staff was very nice also overall good day
Great
The course was great and fairways is nice the greens was cut close and lighting fast not receptive at all for flag hunting.The tee shot is very essential since the course is very tight and you can easily get in trouble
Keep it in the Middle
The course was in good shape, especially with this heat wave we've had. The chained is to keep it in the fairway. If the ball was in the rough, you can easily lose it, even if its a foot off the fairway because it nestles down in the grass and is difficult to find.
Challenging course, but playable for sure.

Great Course on Beautiful Lake Murray
I've played this course 2 times and it's a very nice course that is challenging but not over the top hard. The greens are on the faster side but overall it's a fun course to play on. Stay hydrated as July temps are around 100 degrees.

It's worth the ride to play an excellent layout, well maintained, uncrowded, good practice facility course in a friendly community setting

Great Course
Beautiful course. First time playing here and it was great shape. Nice little practice area. Greens are CRAZY FAST. Only way to get the ball to stick to the green is to fly it high into the green. Anything else will basically run right through. Other than scoring bad because of never playing greens this fast the course is great. Some great views of the lake as well. I will be back

Great staff, great course, great conditions made for a great golfing day. Timberlake as the best views in the area as well. You can't go wrong with this course. The layout is really great, challenging and attractive to the eye. The course was in great shape and the staff is very friendly and helpful. A bargain at twice the price. Make the drive and have a great golf experience.
