Timberlake Country Club in Chapin sits on the shores of Lake Murray, just outside of Columbia in the Midlands of South Carolina. The classic design is reminiscent of traditional Scottish links courses, featuring a combination of water and pot bunkers as well as large grassy swales. The golf course sprawls across rolling hills, which provide plenty of contours and elevation changes. From the elevated tees, golfers will have a dramatic view of the rugged landscape. The golf course is mostly open though there are a few stands of mature trees that can be troublesome if you're not careful. The cavernous bunkers and carefully molded mounding present formidable challenges that will test even the best golfers. In addition to the golf course, Timberlake also offers a full driving range and practice green as well as tennis courts and an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Very challanging course .. laid out nice.

The cartpaths are in need of much attention. The greens are very fast due to being cut to short.

Excellent course and professional staff.

This course has some challenging fairways. Lost a few balls in the three-inch rough but other than that it was a nice course.

Great players course. Can be difficult for the beginner. Only course located on Lake Murray

Great layout. Puts a premium on your T-Shot. If you get the T-Ball in play you should have decent round. If not it could be a long day. Love this course.

Beautiful and challenging course, great price

Had a great time at TCC. Wasn't very busy at all so we weren't rushed at all. Beautiful scenery, well attended greens, and challenging holes but not unrealistic. Definitely recommend this to anyone.

Nice layout, very lush and soft due to rain.

The course was in really good shape and the staff was friendly and helpful. Off the beaten path but worth the drive if you're able to secure a good price as I did on GolfNow.com. Many of the fairways are quite tight and accuracy off the tee is at a premium. Greens were slow but generally fairly small and undulated. The rough was not overly penal but the OB markers were not too far off the fairway on numerous holes.

Nice layout and good value for money.

It's an interesting layout. There are some easy holes and some very challenging holes. If you're straight off the tee box, every hole offers opportunities to score. Not much room for error off the tee. Spray your tee shot and there isn't much hope for a par-saving recovery. There are a handful of holes where water comes into play and requires strategic thinking. I like the layout. I like the well manicured fairways and tee boxes. Greens were just aerated and makes putting an unecessary challenge! Nonetheless, I will play this course multiple times.

Great course all around

Timberlake golf course is a great golf course. The staff are friendly and so are it's players.I was let through twice by two 4 balls and all of the players even greeted and joked with my wife.I thoroughly enjoyed my round & would definitely consider playing there again.

Needs attention.

Although I gave this course a two star rating, I would still recommend this course for others to play. Call first though. It has a great layout with some very challenging holes with views of Lake Murray.
On the bad side of the course the greens were in very bad shape. The tee boxes were bare in spots and for the time of year the fairways weren't as nice as what I have been playing.

The back nine was the best. Great water views on several holes!

The course needs some help on the t-boxes and the greens were in less than great shape mainly on the front nine. The back nine was the best.

The guy that check us in seemed to have little personality and did not really seem to care about his job. The others at the facility were friendly and positive. The carts were in good condition and clean.
