Cheraw State Park Golf Course

Enjoyed the course and the course layout. Staff was friendly and was upfront and accommodating with some course maintenance which required the closure of some holes. They allowed you to play a few extra holes to accommodate you missing the three holes under repair. The only concern was the pace of play. Some golfers did not understand or knew to let faster golfers play through. Overall great time.

Always look forward to playing Cheraw State Park Golf Course. Good conditions, enjoyable layout, and some unique holes. Kind of course that one always wants to play again, and would recommend to others.

Great course. Just wish we’d have known 3 holes were closed for maintenance before we booked the round. Friendly staff and let us play extra holes because of the three closed. Great day and course is in great shape. A little wet in some spots.

Fantastic layout. NO houses. Just a beautiful layout. Reminds me of a very nice Pinehurst Sandhills type of layout. LOVE this course. Bunkers are really only drawback. Just stay out of them!

Course plays great. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the State Park, no houses, beautiful views of the lake with the course in really fine shape. Some of The bunkers are washed out due to the heavy rain the day before but greens are in great shape fairways are good as Well. Always enjoy their course every time we play it . Pace of play was good today and friendly staff help make for a great round .

If you’re looking to drive a bit from Charlotte, this is a fun forest/lake type course. Cheraw State Park was in excellent shape. The greens had recently been punched but were filling in nicely. That and a few wet traps were the only issues the course had. Otherwise it’s in fantastic shape. Played in a twosome in about 3 hrs and 20 minutes. Staff is friendly and during the week was a great time to go down.

Played the Cheraw State Park GC again ...... always a good choice and a good value. Fairways were fantastic, greens just coming out of aeration, but nice. Bunkers need a little TLC. Stayed at the cabins which makes it SO convenient.

One of my favorite courses in the Carolinas. Just a very nice design that has beautiful views of a huge lake.

This course was almost excellent. Layout was good. Fairways, greens, and collars around greens were incomparable.. Tees were a little sparse but still very good. The sand traps were about the worse that I had ever seen. There was no sand in any trap but only compacted gray/black dirt with thousands of rocks in every trap. There was not one square-foot without rocks in any trap. . Many had water puddles about 20 feet in diameter. .

I wish it wasn't so far from Charlotte or we would play here more often! Perfect greens, a player friendly course with wide fairways and no rough. Water on a few holes on the back but more for appearance than in play. Played on a Sunday so was a little slow but that's to be expected. Fairways just now greening up and getting grass. Very Pinehurst-type feel at state park prices. All the positive reviews here are spot-on. It's a gem.

Course plays tough from men’s tees a lot of doglegs, greed are firm but put true! Nice peaceful round or golf!!

Stare Park is a great layout with super smooth greens. If you don’t hole it then it’s your own fault.

Tall pines and great greens makes you feel like you are playing a Pinehurst course
