Cheraw State Park Golf Course

Played in the summer, greens were a little beat up,, not this trip, greens were PGA tour quality. The dude behind the desk was extremely helpful also..A must play

Took a day trip to Cheraw State Park from Raleigh NC. Well worth the trip! Course was in beautiful shape in a very rustic setting. Scenery was just spectacular. Staff in the Pro Shop and concessions were very friendly and they invited me to come back. Kind of wish I lived closer to this course so I could play it more often. See you there soon!

course and greens in excellent condition. layout reminds me of Pinehurst courses. only negative is pace of play and sand traps need attention.

The course was in spectacular form today. Greens were smooth, full and rolled true. The Bermuda rough was still thick and relatively deep in most holes and definitely made approach shots tougher. My only complaint is the free side bunkers were not turned and so played like a driveway in most cases. But I’ll put that down to recent rains and I shouldn’t have been in a couple of those. I’ll be back in a few weeks even though it’s more than an hour drive for me.

If you can handle the 90 minute drive from Charlotte this is one of the best courses around. Great place for golf buddy trip as they do have cabins to rent. Course is in fantastic condition for the price. Challenging layout with nice greens. If it were closer I played all the time, but then it wouldn’t be a hidden gem it is. Will be back soon.

If this course was closer to my house I would be playing it every day. Great staff, they always welcome you with open arms. The greens are great, and the fairways are also. They maybe a little wet in some spots and a few bunkers had some water in them but that was cause of the rain. We played in 3 hours as a twosome, even after

Looking for balls in the woods a few times. ( not ours just because we caught up to a 4some the last few holes ).

This state park off US 52 is a steal this time of year. With Pinehurst charging peak season prices, this is a reasonable option. Greens were superb, pace of play outstanding. Bunkers are hardly ever good in these kind of systems(state parks), but this way a joy, and we come here often. We easily played 36 holes in six hours, and one of us is almost 73.

Challenging and scenic layout.. Course was in great shape . Very inexpensive and wonderful pace of play for a Sunday morning. It would easily be my home course if it wasn’t so far from Charlotte.

Great Greens!! Great fairways. Rough was cut about 3-4 inches so It played tough today. Lot of forced carry over bunkers or hitting 200 to a hole short. Locals were friendly. On a holiday expected it to be busier but it was wide open at 8:30am. Worth the drive from Charlotte. Can’t wait to go back.

This place is awesome! Nice fairways and greens. Beautiful layout and very scenic. Only improvement recommendation would be better (and more) sand in the bunkers.

This is one of the best courses I’ve ever played. Beautiful layout in fantastic condition. Fairways and Greens are impeccable! Bunkers could benefit from some new / nicer sand (only improvement needed). Staff super friendly and kind. Can’t wait until my next round at Cheraw!!

First time playing this course and look forward to playing this gem again soon. The course conditions were fantastic. Tee boxes were in excellent shape, fairways well groomed and full. The greens were in excellent shape. I could not be more impressed with the course conditions, amenities and helpful staff in the pro shop!

Tee boxes and fairways were lush . Greens were fast and smooth . Best condition of a Charlotte area Course I’ve played this year . Fantastic value . Hit it in the rough and this course is an absolute beast . The bunkers could use a little sand , but it didn’t distract from a very enjoyable and challenging round on a very picturesque layout.

Cheraw is in top shape! Fairways, greens and south are perfect. Definitely recommend

This is my first time playing this course and won’t be the last. It has great scenery, great layout, and the greens were in excellent shape. Our group will definitely come back and play this course again .

Perfect day, if I would have made a couple putts. Greens were spectacular, views incredible, fairways plush!!
