Cheraw State Park Golf Course

For the price this is the best designed course my wife and I have ever played...Many sand traps and decent greens make for a challenging but not impossible course for an intermediates player. Heavy rains the night before made conditions less than ideal, but we still enjoyed the course and could easily see the potential. The state park setting is beautiful....

Greens in great shape. Fairways a notch above average. Sand bunkers have been upgraded and improved. No homes on this course and very scenic reminding me of the state park golf courses in WV. However, the golf cart paths need serious repairs and upgrading. If you have back or neck issues please operate carefully. A pleasure to play this course.

Beautiful place can’t wait to play when weather gets better and the fairways get green. This place will be nice to play and take in the beauty of nature.

Course in great condition for this time of year. Course requires some actual thinking skills.

This course has excellent greens, an excellent layout at an excellent price. I would play here every week if I lived closer. Today was CPO due to the recent rains and the fairways were sloppy in some areas, but that is not the fault of management. Don't miss an opportunity to play here. It never seems to be busy on weekdays when I play.

I’ve played Cheraw State park several times and it never disappoints.

For a state park course, this should be near the top of the list. Excellent greens and fairways and layout. Lots of pine trees and needles. This time of year the greens had a lot of debris, but overall conditions were excellent. For the price, it can't be beat. A long ride from home, but a must play a couple of times per year. A couple holes had nice lakewater views. Bunkers need some more sand, a work in progress.

They have been working on the bunkers and much improved but not there yet. This is one of my favorite courses. Good value for money compared to Pinehurst.

Have heard about how good this course was for several years and finally made the drive to check it out. Was everything I had heard and more. Extremely friendly guy in the pro shop and the course was in great shape and had some really unique holes to make things interesting. Will definitely make the trip again.

Great day of golf…meet and played with a new friend…course is in great condition except some bunkers need sand….always enjoy this course

I gave four stars for condition - the only reason I did not give stars is because of the bunker sand, which in some cases are very Stony. If this was corrected this course is truly one of the best and in absolutely great condition
