Oak Hills Golf Club
       About
Oak Hills Golf Club sits near the state capital but it doesn't feel like it's located in a city. It has a peaceful and picturesque setting. The golf course rolls across gentle hills studded with oaks, pines, and beautiful dogwoods. Some of the greens are rather undulating and a few are elevated as well. Most holes are framed by trees or water. There are some challenging holes but the layout doesn't present anything too intimidating for beginners. The golf course finishes with one of its most memorable holes. From the elevated tee on this par 5, golfers will get a panoramic view of nine different holes.

Quality course
First time playing the course this year in good condition considering the recent hot weather. Greens in excellent shape along with fairways. Look forward to playing again. Definitely worth the price
Course is OK but Cart path is AWFUL
Grabbed a quick tee time here and looked like a nice course with decent holes. Little did I know that the cart path was going to be like riding a VW Jetta on an offroad mountain trail. There were some sections where the path was almost to the point where you felt like you were going to tip the cart and other parts where the path was cracked and almost 4-6 inches of vertical movement. There was not much of the path that was not cracked or a rough ride. Also there was no marshal or pace of play control. One group of "5", yeah 5, set out an hour before us and we had caught up with them by the 7th hole. If the ride between holes was not so awful and bone shaking it would have been a nice day even with the 95 degree temps.
Great Course Conditions
This course is in the best shape I have ever seen. I have played here on and off for the past 15 years and the condition of the course is night and day. Since the greens were redone a few years ago they are great. Rolling smooth and pretty quick. Fairways are green and lush and the rough is green as well which is pretty surprising considering the heat we have been having. Hats off to the course superintendent. Great job and one of the best kept course in the midlands. Go play here as you won't be disappointed.
Golfnow Tee Time at Oak Hills
Everything went perfectly. We showed up with the Golfnow proof of purchase. No questions asked by the pro shop. We were early, but no problem teeing off early since it wasn't too busy. Golfnow is a great deal.
Great course, will play again.
The corse was in great condition, just a little bit better condition than Timberlake CC which is great condition too. My only complaint is the pace of play. It wasn't too crazy but on the back we waited every other hole.
Good course & good condition
Played the course with a few friends this weekend in the morning so avoided the worst of Columbia's summer heat.
We definintely will consider Oak Hills in future rounds as it was the course from the tees to the greens were in good shape.
Three criticisms:
                1) cart paths are not in good shape
                2) the golf app I use (Grint) has not received the updated layout/score card
                3) the staff person we dealt with in the club house wasn't personal (no eye contact, "hold on, be with you in a sec")
Great Course
I love playing this course. However, we took a break at the turn and went in to purchase a hot dog and a drink. Instead of enjoying the air and relaxing to eat a hot dog we were told three times that we needed to get out and eat on the turn. There were no golfers behind us and not pushed all day. We wanted to spend some money in the clubhouse and felt like we were burdening them by being there. Not the best experience to grow your food and beverage if you cant be there for more than five minutes.
Hidden GEM
I was part of the opening staff in 1990/1991 and had not played it since then. First the course - Great shape as far as the tee boxes, fairways and greens. First rate. Pro mentioned greens may be slow, I did not think as much. Not glass but fair speed. The bunkers however were in very poor shape. I found one only on # 16, but all looked the same. The clubhouse exterior was not in great shape but inside fair enough. Not a lot to choose from in the pro shop so come prepared. Overall the value for the money is FIRST RATE. Great holes and layouts. Course plays longer than 6800+, from tips, due to elevation changes. Play here when you can!
Would like a pin placement guide and flag color changes for depth of pin placement. The small flag at base of flag stick was a bit ambiguous.
Great course with smooth greens
I was very pleased to find this course in great condition and with very nice greens. There were a few holes that were easier than they should be but overall the course played difficult but very fun.
much better condition
Although some days I want to be alone and not paired, I'm glad I was paired. Had a real good day with new people that were very nice and not boisterous. Course was in wonderful shape too. Definitely worth the usual course charge, but I'm a poor fella, so the app helps me a lot.
Perfect
Played here numerous times. Always in fantastic shape. Played here after getting 3-4 inches of rain in the past few days. Course was still great. Drains extremely well. Great layout. PLAY HERE ASAP
Great layout, great challenge
Great course, perfect greens! Perfect conditions great views
Course is looking great
Always a challenging round. Played in 4 hours. Greens are challenging as well. Great place to play.
Slow
5.5 hour round for a noon Friday tee time. No ranger at all. Greens were okay.
Good round
Course was in decent shape despite of the rain on the pervious days. Greens were a little slow but probably due to the moisture recieved over the previous week. I look forward to playing the course when condions are better
sbove average course in columbia area
This course is a good value for its typical greens fees (~$45). Conditions are always above average, but definitely not perfect/amazing. Fairways are mostly wide open which helps out golfers who tend to be a bit erratic on their drives.
great track
It was in good shape considering the weather. I will definitely play here again.
Sneaky challenging course
Generous fairways with opportunities to score low. Speedy greens and protected bunkers are deceiving for a mid/low handicapper. So, you must use all your clubs in the bag. Can't wait to play again.
Solid course
This course has rolling terrain and mostly wider fairways. It is challenging without being punitive. Always in good condition.
TOUGH DAY
Beautiful weather, nice course that is sufficiently challenging! Poor play on my part had nothing to do with the quality of the course.
