The Preserve at Verdae
About
The Preserve at Verdae sprawls across a lush landscape of rolling hills and meadows covered with beautiful Carolina forests. Formerly known as Verdae Greens, the golf course was completely revamped but one of the primary goals of the renovation was to find harmony between golf and nature. The carefully reworked course does just that, blending seamlessly into its scenic surroundings. Rambling brooks wander across the layout and provide water hazards on a few holes. The wind is also a major factor on this golf course. The breezes can be either light and refreshing or strong and blustery, making proper club selection even more important. The most photographed hole on the golf course is the par-3 second. If you're lucky enough to come when the azaleas are blooming, this hole offers a breathtaking setting.

Beautiful but tough finishing hope. Photo submitted by u000001682547 on 10/03/2013
Great course well worth the money
Really nice course in good shape, the fastest greenS I’ve ever played, think hard wood floors. I’ll definitely be going back soon everyone working there was exceptionally nice especially the lady at the desk.
Great design that will make you stay focused.
Course has interesting challenges & scenery. Always in very good condition and the staff is top notch.
Challenging course
Enjoyed our round. Greens rolled true and fast. Approach shots must be below the hole. Had a great time!
Wish GN would come down on convenience fees. It adds up.
Thank you.
Course is good but they sell 10min tee times
This course is nice and you can play for cheap with golf now deals but they stack in the tee times at 10min. I played in a twosome with a buddy on monday and it was typical of this course, we had someone infront of us the whole time and someone purposefully hitting into us on the back nine. If you arent shooting par, or have someone in front of you who isnt, prepare to be annoyed.
Always great
Love this course!!! With GN, cannot be beat. Greens are fast and elevation changes make it challenging. Course personnel are always kind and sincere. One of my favorites in the upstate.
could be better!
It is a nice golf course, challenging with undulated and fast greens, dog legs and blind shots, good stuff. Still very disappointing there are no rangers on the course to keep the pace... and this is not first time! one group of 4somes ahead a head of us with loud music on... barely moving, totally rude (just to be polite)
Challenging course
Course was in great shape. The greens ran true and were very challenging.
Although golf now’s price made it affordable to play i still don’t understand all of the “convenience fee” charges.
Thank you
Great Course
The Preserve is a very well maintained, but challenging course. The staff can be a bit snobby, but that is easily overlooked because the course is so much fun, and doesn't keep me from giving this course an excellent rating. There is a wide variety of holes on the course, and there is a lot of privacy as you're playing. I've been very impressed with the pace of play, especially given that this course is so popular. Major kudos to the staff for their impeccable scheduling. Definitely a must-play course.
Nice course
The course was nice but the front 9 was very narrow requiring a very accurate tee shot. Green were dyed dark green which made it more difficult to read the breaks. The fluffy grass around the greens makes it impossible to run a shot onto the green. It always lands like its being caught by a sponge. A couple of holes are a bit hokie which require a iron off the tee but it does provide a risk / reward shot off the tee. The difference between the white tee box and the blue is significant like 600 yards more 6100 white versus 6850 blue where I usually tee from.
Overall, nice course but very challengjng tee shots and greens.
For me this course is very difficult but love challenging my sel. If I can play good in this course, I will play better in other courses. They keeps course top shape and staffs are super nice. I am planning to play more in this course.
Fun course
Good layout, in good shape. Though it is in some lower terrain, after a few days of rain, it stays wet for a while, the bugs come out and it has the muddy swampy smell. Not on all the holes, just the ones that dip down near the creeks and lake. I still had a fun round and everyone there was super nice. Greens were in good shape.
Great challenge
The course is almost always in great shape!
Greens hold, smooth and are fast at times.
Keep it in the fairway and you'll have no problem moving the rock around the course.
I'm sure you won't regret playing here.
GolfNow.com has the best deals in the upstate for this course if you're lucky enough to get the Hot Deal.
Second verse better than the first
The course layout is an incredible challenge but the main hazard theme is deep rough. I had played this course for the first time prior to Web.com tournament and pace of play was slow due to cart path only in preparation to the tournament. This time around the pace of play was a lot better and the staff was very attentive and friendly. My only critique would be that the fairways had plenty of divots that were not being filled by the players that made them. Other than that I will definitely be back again.
Great
Course was in fantastic shape. Must stay in fairway. Looks like Verde of the old without the big trees in middle of course. Greens nice....
Fun course
Challenging layout will keep you on your toes. Presently the course is going through an improvement process. Pace is slow due to the difficulty of the course. This is a course that will make you a better player. When I return to Greenville I will play again. Hope the improvements are done by then.
Interesting but Challenging
We got a great GolfNow deal on "eclipse day". We loved the layout and both fairways and greens were in really good condition. Coming from the Low country, we had to get used to hitting off uneven lies, but it was still fun.
As an older female 30 handicapper, however, I found some of the carry off of the tees a little too challenging and would recommend a forward tee. My husband played well and loved the course.
I would have given a 5 star rating, but the it was a difficult course to navigate due to areas of nonexistent cart paths. Driving up hill on gravel paths was difficult and dangerous. Hoping they are working on the paths to improve the experience.
