About
Architect Dennis Griffiths designed this track as a finesse course. He did not produce the typical beach layout when he created this 18-hole design, built in 1988. It has narrow bermudagrass fairways and large bentgrass greens and is bordered on the east by the Intracoastal Waterway.
Holes No. 1 through 15 are short, and the course lulls you up to this point. Then, the last three holes are uncharacteristically difficult.The course is mostly flat, with occasional uneven lies. Some tree-lined fairways have doglegs. The course is always fun to play and an especially fun round of golf for couples.

Always coming back
I have played this course for years. The conditions are great and can accommodate any type of golfer. I will always be coming back to Eastport.

Good for the money
Got a hot deal and played in four hours. Slow at times, but the hot deal was good for the money. Able to use the cart on some fairways. Greens were in good shape.

Rude staff member
The guy at the bag drop was overly rude. There was no staff member or anyone waiting to go off when we arrived. Because of COVID 19 the staff doesn’t normally want to touch your bags so we put ours on a cart. When the staff member showed up, he scolded us for doing so. He said others were going off before us even though there was no one in sight. There were plenty of carts available for anyone who was ready to go. A second guy came up when he heard him berating us and intervened. He was very kind and courteous. It is very doubtful we will go back to this course because of this rude staff member.

Could be better
Poor drainage after a rain, all traps full of water and many soggy areas. Greens were slow. Decent layout, fairways in decent shape. Tee areas okay. Condo golf so lots of living areas all around course. Landscaping, cart paths show signs of neglect. We overpaid but maybe due to holiday week. Would not play again unless under 30 dollars.

Very disappointed
I have driven passed this course so many times and always wanted to play it. Unfortunately it wasn’t even close to what we expected. Even though it hasn’t rained here in a week, some of the sand traps had huge puddles in them. And the sand traps that didn’t have puddles were hard as a rock. The greens were burned and hard. And they hadn’t blown the leaves off the course in a few days making it difficult to find your shots especially if you were in the rough.
The staff was very friendly and helpful but the course needs a lot of maintenance.

Felling Sorry
I've played just about every course in the Myrtle Beach area in over 25+ years and today was the first time I have played Eastport.
The two guys working were very pleasant and helpful and allowed us to start before our scheduled time. My buddy and I finished in less than four hours.
Now for the course. I think the course has a terrific layout and would have love to seen Eastport in its earlier days, however, it is in desperate need of a lot repair work. It is a shame the owners has let the course deteriorate to the condition it is in. Sort of like Carolina Shores.
This review is not a knock on the course but on the owners. It is such a shame to let the course go like it is. Owners should sell to someone willing to put some dough back in.

Play again kinda course
Fabulous golf course but if your going to have bunkers on your course then maintain them. If not get rid of them Other than that loved this golf course
