The Valley at Eastport Golf Club
About
Architect Dennis Griffiths designed this track as a finesse course. He did not produce the typical beach layout when he created this 18-hole design, built in 1988. It has narrow bermudagrass fairways and large bentgrass greens and is bordered on the east by the Intracoastal Waterway.
Holes No. 1 through 15 are short, and the course lulls you up to this point. Then, the last three holes are uncharacteristically difficult. The course is mostly flat, with occasional uneven lies. Some tree-lined fairways have doglegs. The course is always fun to play and an especially fun round of golf for couples.

Thursday Golf
Golf on a hot day. A few golfers on the course. Fairways were in good shape. Greens were fast and fair. They always have tee times available.
Close, challenging, but player friendly
We played 18 holes on 7/20/24. Though it was cart path only due to a storm that had passed through the area the night before, it did dry out quickly and made play easier than expected. Beautiful grounds, greens were in top shape, fast play, though some course reconstruction was underway on a couple of holes, it didnt interfere with play. Some holes were challenging playing over the water the grounds are beautiful and very well kept.
Valley at Eastport
One of the nicest courses I’ve played, and first course I’ve played in Myrtle Beach altogether. Never had the option of bag drop off so that was nice. Staff was nice, and great instruction on where and when to start playing.
Nothing too exciting
The course only played 6232 from the tips and a pretty straight forward layout. Seemed like they had some issues with the greens as they were recently aerated and still had multiple dead spots in them and they were shaggy and slow. The guys inside were nice and explained the course condition after I played. The starter was not too eager to help. I have never played there before and I asked where the first tee was and he just pointed toward a house and said “ over there”. No course description and he didn’t even ask if I was ready to go. He just drove away. All in all, there are places to play that are the same price point ($50ish) that are much better and have a better overall experience.

The course was in terrible shape.. greens and fairways not cut!!!! Greens had disease spots all over like half of them
Great course , loved layout Greens were a little
rough, but they are working on them. Would definitely play again.
warm up round
Needed an extra 18 before our 1st round with our group. Got out early and flew around. Great value and fun course to play.
Very poor course conditions
The course was in very poor condition. The greens were awful. Some had bare spots all were filled with long grass and clumps of grass. Some greens looked like fairwways. Tee boxes were in bad shape. Many had mutlifple divets throughtout and uneven surfaces. Car paths were non existent or worn out asphalt or just stones with pot holes. It was an embarassment to play this couse.
The rep in the pro shop was a very good and personable. Too bad he had such a bad course to represent. I would no recommend this course to anyone.
