Architect Dennis Griffiths designed this track as a finesse course. He did not produce the typical beach layout when he created this 18-hole design, built in 1988. It has narrow bermudagrass fairways and large bentgrass greens and is bordered on the east by the Intracoastal Waterway.

Holes No. 1 through 15 are short, and the course lulls you up to this point. Then, the last three holes are uncharacteristically difficult. The course is mostly flat, with occasional uneven lies. Some tree-lined fairways have doglegs. The course is always fun to play and an especially fun round of golf for couples.

Short course

The cart paths were terrible. The course was not labeled very well. We didn't know which was to go next. Several blinds shots

Short but challenging course

The cart paths were in terrible condition. The course is short so it was quick but there was a lot of hurry up and then wait.

You better love water hazards and sand bunkers

Front 9 was ok, back 9 has water and sand bunkers in excess, raised tee-boxes is another player access issue, the day we played was a golf path only day due to fertilization. Not an enjoyable round at all, look at the score card before booking.

Overall the course was in good shape. The greens ran true. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. A couple of suggestions which improve play. There is a shortage of bunker rakes for the number of bunkers. Each bunker should have a rake which they don't. On some holes there is only one rake for three or four bunkers. To help with morning play they should start groups on both sets of tees as other courses do. My wife and I enjoy the course but a few small items would improve our experience.

Great course

We vacation in Myrtle beach each year and Valley at Eastport

Is now one of our favorite courses. From the moment you unload your bag to the pro shop, the staff is friendly and accommodating. Course is in good condition, some greens need repair but overall a nice course. Play was a little slow, and we had to wait on some holes, but all in all a really nice day. We will definitely be back next year.

We love the Valley at Eastport

It was raining quite hard at our 7:30 tee time. But that's okay as it meant the course wouldn't be packed - it wasn't. We've played here before and enjoy it. It's reasonably priced and has some challenging holes (water, water, water) that force you to play smart ... I'm still working on that. We'll come here again. For sure.

From Virginia Beach

We thought the course played well. Greens, fairways and bunkers were in good shape. Greens specifically were well maintained. If there was anything to complain about it would be cart path but honestly we didn't have an issue with unimproved areas.

Lots of water and sand traps, it was a challenge course. Completed round in 4 hours. Would play again for sure.
