Santee National Golf Club possesses all of the charms of the Carolina Lowcountry but it is also nicely contrasted with highland terrain. The course sprawls across rolling hills covered with moss-draped live oaks that demand accuracy. Both the scenery and the challenges continue with pristine white sand bunkers that stand out against the lush greens. There are also five sparkling lakes throughout that come into play on several holes. The front nine is wide open but the course narrows as you move onto the back nine and it also becomes more wooded. It is a tough golf course but more forgiving than it seems. As the only Golf Digest 4-star rated course in the area, Santee National has a longstanding reputation with locals and it is also popular with visitors.

Very enjoyable round of golf

Outstanding golf now value. Greens rolled very well and the course offered a good challenge. Front 9 might be a little easier than back 9. This would a definite return course for me.

this course was in great shape. The greens were great.

The staff were very friendly. The price was fair. I felt the pace of play was okay considering this was Saturday afternoon. I think the course was in great shape. The rough very thick and tuff to get out of as it should be this time of year. Staying in the fairway a big plus. The greens were perfect speed wise at least what I like. Not lightening fast, nor slow. The greens were consistent from one hole to the next. I will definitely go back and I will recommend this course to my friends.

Golf Now made the day..

The course is only ten minutes from our resort. Computer was having internet connection problem, so after driving over to the course to see if they had computer available to make reservation, they did not and their price for out of state customers was too high. Went back to resort and called Golf Now . The customer service was excellent, not only did she get me a reservation at the original golf course, she called the course and advised that I was running late. The staff at Santee National was very hospitable and sent me on to the first tee for a great round of golf at a very excellent golf course.

Great shape, great price.

Real nice course. All but 1-2 greens were perfect. Fairways were nice. Course is mainly open in the front 9, then weaves through the woods in the back.

Good

This course was in great condition. Minus a few tee boxes not being up to par I really enjoyed playing here. The greens were emaculent they were soft but rolled really well and rolled true. Was very pleased playing here except for the pace of play. Well worth the drive from Charleston to come visit and play.

greens were airated, fairways mowed but not very even in height.

Staff or golf now should have said something about conditions at time of booking..

Interesting change from out to in.

Well maintained. I think this course is a definite challenge if you do not hit the fairways. I am talking about the grass length and type. It is really hard to recover in most spots. Make sure you hit the fairways coming in. Definitely will recommend this course. Very, very nice greens and fair pin placements.

Great Layout & Friendly Staff

Booked a Hot Deal on GolfNow while at home in FL. My wife and I like to stop over in Santee on our way to the beach in Nagshead NC. I was a single and was paired with a nice couple from Charleston. The course is in excellent condition and a very nice layout. Super friendly professional golf staff.

Very Well Maintained Golf Course

We needed to find a course close to I-95 so we did some research and found Santee National. We read the reviews and decided to try the course. We were not disappointed, except that it was very wet when we played and was cart path only. The greens were a bit "furry" but we figured it was because they weren't able to cut them due to the 7-plus inches of rain they had received in the past few weeks. The fairways and approach areas were well maintained and the two-tiered greens made for some challenging putts. The only drawback was that the tee boxes are extremely spaced out, but this was not a deal breaker in the least. We are glad we chose to play Santee National.

Very nice course in this small town less than 1 mile from I-95

When I frist arrived at this course, the club house building, the parking lot, and the putting green did not seem anything that would let me believe this was a nice course. After I stand on the #1 tee, wow, the fairway looked so nice just like those that you see on PGA tournaments on TV. The green was so smooth and good speed. But, best of all, it was not just #1 hole, the entire 18 holes were like that. It was a very well maintained course from tee to green and bunkers too. The starter was very nice spending time to explain the hole layout. When I turned to #10, he was also there to do the same. I was paired with 3 other local players, and they were so nice and fun to play with. I booked my tee time on golfnow.com and it was a great deal to play this course at $35.

Great Value

Fairways and greens were both in good shape. This course has nice wide fairways and only a limited amount of trouble. We had the course pretty much to ourselves. Overall a very solid golf course that I will play again.

Great golf right off the interstate

Excellent layout and the course was in very good condition. Rivaled some of the fancier courses around the Charleston area. Worth driving an hour from Charleston to come play.

This course is a must play.

Very nice course. Great shape from tee to green. Played the day after it had rained so some of the bunkers were unplayable. Lucky I missed them.

Great course and nice staff

We played it the first of April and it was in great shape for Spring golf. 25 dollars for 18 with a cart was a super deal.
Would go back again!

Great course right off I-95

Being from Charleston I'm fortunate to be able to play a lot of nice courses using golfnow. This course was in as nice of shape as any of the ones I get to play in the Charleston area. Greens not flat, but roll true. The majority of the course is bordered with nice mixed pine/hardwoods and not alot of houses Don't mind driving over an hour to come play again.
