The Club at Pine Forest
About
The 18 semi-private holes at Pine Forest wind through the tall Summerville pines with numerous live oaks, dogwoods and a lake system thrown in for good measure. With an equal balance of straightaways, doglegs and elevation changes, this course is nicely balanced, with challenges and fun in store for golfers of all levels. Rental clubs and electric carts are available.
At 6,905 yards with a 138-slope rating, Pine Forest lives up to its name, as the course has numerous barriers of tall Summerville pines to cause problems for an errant shot. The Bob Spence design also makes use of water to add to the difficulty of some holes. It's a semi-private course, and they've named each hole, with No. 12 being known as "Little Augusta" while No. 15 is "Wastelands."

A Slog
Extremely busy, 2 groups every, muddy conditions , Tee time was 12:30, could not finish too slow.
Did not get to play
Wanted to set me up with three older people. I signed up to play by myself I understand sometimes want to book the whole course but sometimes people want to play on there own. I wanted to play on my own it's been 2 years since I played and wanted the freedom of my own play so I did not get to play even after asking to play by myself like I booked
I NEED MORE BALLS
1st time playing this course with the wife and we lost a lot of balls. There were a few signs giving distance to water from tee box which gave me some guidance. The problem was the 2nd shots that had several hills in the way and I gave a huge swat to find that my ball was several feet under water. The next time I play this course I will know what is over the hills. I like the the course layout.
Terrible pace of play and no one on the course.
There was NO marshal or anyone going around to keep the pace going. There was a couple that was walking (members) and wouldn't let anyone play through. Causing 5 groups to back up at tees and in the fairways. Then there was a grandfather and his 2 grandsons hitting "several" plays at every spot. round took almost 5 hrs.!!!! Wouldn't play again unless it was FREE, then i would still have to debate it.
Great design, bad maintenance
The design of this course is terrific! Great topography, multi-shelved greens, water all around.
The fiarways are full of crabgrass, no distance markers other than 150. So easy to make improvements that would be a terrific course. Not there yet.
Right for the price
The price is right for the conditions and the challenge. Once you play it a few times you can avoid the water! The staff is very friendly and accommodating!
Tricky course
This can be a tricky course, and is great for the thinking golfer. Plenty of hazards to be aware of. Played yesterday and today, and dropped 13 strokes just from the better understanding. Play repeatedly to appreciate the layout.
Good challenging course
Had a good time pace of play was good today, course is in decent shape for this time of year.
With 2 inches of rain the previous evening they should never have let players out
Wet, muddy, and not playable. Cart path only was definitely needed but didn’t solve the courses terrible conditiin
Great Track
I would definitely recommend taking the drive out here to play. Awesome club in the old style. Lots of trees, so stay straight. Greens need a little more attention, but were true. I'm amazed at the low cost to play here. Hot Deal was $25, are you kidding me?
Green and fairways
Greens are bad with weed, fairways are just as bad. It’s a $20 course. They need to spend some money on weed treatment on entire coarse.
Course in very bad shape
Course is not maintained well greens are in awful shape and the grass is growing over can’t tell the rough from the fairways
Decent
Course in rough shape due to rain no fault of theirs. In turn it makes the course cart path only right now in the 90+ degree weather. Miserable to play this time of year cart path only.
