The Club at Pine Forest
About
The 18 semi-private holes at Pine Forest wind through the tall Summerville pines with numerous live oaks, dogwoods and a lake system thrown in for good measure. With an equal balance of straightaways, doglegs and elevation changes, this course is nicely balanced, with challenges and fun in store for golfers of all levels. Rental clubs and electric carts are available.
At 6,905 yards with a 138-slope rating, Pine Forest lives up to its name, as the course has numerous barriers of tall Summerville pines to cause problems for an errant shot. The Bob Spence design also makes use of water to add to the difficulty of some holes. It's a semi-private course, and they've named each hole, with No. 12 being known as "Little Augusta" while No. 15 is "Wastelands."

Stuck between 2 different members groups
Greens are in bad shape.
Lots of water hidden- need to play to know where to hit it.
Overall nice course, but...
First time playing here. Overall the course was nice and well maintained. The greens were complete garbage, as bad as if they were just aerated even though they weren’t. Tee times must have been way overbooked as well because there was a 20+ minute delay for a scheduled tee time and play was stop and go all day
Tee times were 8 min apart and there were 4 groups waiting on the 1st when it was our tee time. No ranger and the starter we didn't even speak to. Took us 5 hours to get through 15 holes and then we had to leave. Greens were slow and bumpy.
Friendly staff. Nice amenities.
We were vacationing from Wisconsin and found a nice twilight deal. Greens were in rough shape. I don’t know anything about SC golf season so maybe it’s just a tough time of year to keep the course up. The course is in a residential neighborhood but it never felt like the homes came into play which was nice. We did get stuck behind a 5some of local teenagers which was frustrating. Course layout is nice and challenging with plenty of lies to make you think.
June 4th
Fairways are in great shape, t-boxes need some TLC, greens are lost.
Kudos, except for the greens
Always have respected the challenge of this course with its variety of good golf holes, raised greens, and well maintained fairways. Something needs to be done with the greens however. Shaggy and bumpy greens detract from a mostly enjoyable round of golf.
Poor Green Conditions
Nice layout and course. Greens are in such poor shape there is no way to read them or have a decent put. The T boxes were not mowed or trimmed and rock hard. Was in better shape a couple years ago.
Horrible greens and terrible range
The greens were beyond horrible long shaggy grass ,aerated ,and patches of earth showing everywhere. They said they recently treated them but they were beyond bad. Unputtable and I wasted good money there..
The pace of play was crazy too. 9 holes before .you whole group quit took almost 3 hours. Terrible
Worth the drive
Off the beaten path. Beautiful course and surroundings. Challenging course. The greens were recently punched so not great putting but not bad either. Plenty of water and other obstacles to make you earn a solid score.
Would definitely golf here again.
Nice layout, but go early!
The layout is a nice challenge for all golfers, with many elevated greens and lots of water. Some of the greens were in rough shape and most are hairy and bumpy so don't count on a putt rolling true. I mention going early because the course is in a neighborhood and the residents are out and all over the course in the evening. There was someone fishing at pretty much every pond and so many random golf carts driving around. All the residents were very nice, but they were there nonetheless, you have to worry about an errant shot hitting someone that's 250 yards away and closer. If they put some money into the course, it could be very nice.
Slow slow slow pace of play
Course is in fairly good condition, greens a little rough and bare in spots. Pace of play today was slow.
Pine Forest
The course layout is great, challenging holes, and lots of water. Biggest issue was the speed and condition of the greens. Granted it had rained the day before but besides that they were incredibly slow and uneven, difficult to get a true roll.
First Time Playing Pine Forest
Nice course. tee boxes were a bit furry and in need of a manicure. Overall, this is a nice course that I look forward to playing again.
