The Club at Pine Forest
About
The 18 semi-private holes at Pine Forest wind through the tall Summerville pines with numerous live oaks, dogwoods and a lake system thrown in for good measure. With an equal balance of straightaways, doglegs and elevation changes, this course is nicely balanced, with challenges and fun in store for golfers of all levels. Rental clubs and electric carts are available.
At 6,905 yards with a 138-slope rating, Pine Forest lives up to its name, as the course has numerous barriers of tall Summerville pines to cause problems for an errant shot. The Bob Spence design also makes use of water to add to the difficulty of some holes. It's a semi-private course, and they've named each hole, with No. 12 being known as "Little Augusta" while No. 15 is "Wastelands."

Love this course!
This is a great and beautiful course. Very fun to play and love the price. It’s easy to walk to whole course. Totally worth my 45 minute drive every time I go out there!
Club house staff was great. One person per cart due to COVID. Course was in really good shape. Great value. Recommend playing again.
Difficult course/Great value
Awesome setup, but very difficult scoring wise. Carolina courses tend to roll out quite a bit and with so many moguls and pines a bad bounce can be devastating. Par 4’s are pretty long here, it’s the short Par 3’s and 5’s that make the distance misleading. From the Blue tees 6 of 10 Par 4’s are over 400 yards so poor tee shots can lead to long approach shots to very protected greens.
Greens are very slow during spring because of the nature of Bermuda grass, just cannot mow it tight with the amount of Poa that grows up on them. Highly recommend this course because it’s fun, challenging and reasonable. Some local courses (looking at you Wescott) are absurdly priced compared to here. For instance it’s $22 after 4 to golf here, Wescott is $35 lol.
Solid and a good value
Challenging but fair golf course. A few weird tee boxes and the hardest ground I have played on in a while, but overall a good walkable track. Will definitely play again.
Gem
Course is a great condition, always good rates and you can’t beat the fact that it reminds of a little Augusta National.
Unbelievable bargain.
This "hot deal" was really more than I expected. Nice course, well kept, fairly challenging. No towels at the ball washers, but that is really not a big deal. Unbeatable for the price.
Nic course
I was on vacation and booked this course through golf now. It was a nice course, your typical links style with not a lot of challenging holes. The greens were very slow as it appeared they have not been cut for while. They however were in good shape. I would go back again.
First timer
I was very disappointed when we arrived and found three foursomes on the TEe ahead of us at our teatime. Apparently our teatime was double booked. There was no Ranger to resolve the issue. So we had to wait through three teetimes to play. Once playing the course Was very challenging. I will go back but make sure that your teatime is correct and will be honored.
Stellar conditions for early March
Bought a real cheap hot deal for a beautiful Saturday midday round. Looking back, I would’ve paid twice as much. Greens were in great condition, pretty fast and rolled true. Not too soggy even after tons of rain recently. Just generally more lush than expected for this time of year. Looking forward to going back.
Great price, good play
The course was a little wet, but heck, it’s February...
winter golf
I imagine this is a really nice course when there is grass on the fairways. Winter conditions are very wet.
January Golf
Played this in January several years back... It was in the 40's and a fun day of golf... Hard to tell how a course actually is in the middle of January of course. I might bump my review to a four star if it was in season and I could play it again.
Dufficult course that does not drain well
Not extremely long but very difficult. The fairways are peppered with moguls, which also surround the greens. The greens are also all elevated. Don’t leave your wedges at home. You will not roll any balls onto these greens. You have to put it there. In good wreathes a good course, but rain is.bane to this course. On the day I played it was cart path only. Still water was everywhere as were muddy areas. The driving range was closed because the rain softens the ground are balls are lost in the mud. Call before going the find out the conditions. I have played this course several times and when it is in good shape it is a fun course.
Good Course and Great Value
I play Pine Forest whenever I am in the area. The course is an interesting design, with many multi tiered and elevated greens. It is a challenge for golfers of any level. And the novice players should bring lots of ammo and their sense of humour.
The Club at Pine Forest
We always enjoy this course. Just difficult enough to challenge the beginner and seasoned golfer. The cart paths could use some work but that's our only complaint.
