The Club at Pine Forest
About
The 18 semi-private holes at Pine Forest wind through the tall Summerville pines with numerous live oaks, dogwoods and a lake system thrown in for good measure. With an equal balance of straightaways, doglegs and elevation changes, this course is nicely balanced, with challenges and fun in store for golfers of all levels. Rental clubs and electric carts are available.
At 6,905 yards with a 138-slope rating, Pine Forest lives up to its name, as the course has numerous barriers of tall Summerville pines to cause problems for an errant shot. The Bob Spence design also makes use of water to add to the difficulty of some holes. It's a semi-private course, and they've named each hole, with No. 12 being known as "Little Augusta" while No. 15 is "Wastelands."

Wet today
Great layout but very wet right now, the greens have much improved!!!
Golf course
Excellent setup. Great test, enjoy the entire course, even though the water usually gets in my way.
Excellent
Always a fun yet challenging course. My friend and I were shocked at the conditions of course seeing that it poured down rain just two days before. The greens, tee boxes and fairways were in amazing condition which is very rare for December. Will definitely be back.
Like a private course
. It can be very challenging for the beginner due to the water hazards on every hole! However, the course is Fun because it makes you think!
The fairways and greens were in great condition considering the recent rains! The pace of play was like belonging to a private course!
Enjoyable Thanksgiving Tradition
Our tradition as a family is to go golfing the day after Thanksgiving. Although Pine Forest is a challenging golf course we played a two team scramble and moved along nicely.
Staff is always nice and accommodating!
Just average
The course layout was really boring for the most part. Hit it long and straight and you are good. Also water was hidden everywhere and the course was really wet. The worst part is we almost got hit multiple times by some kids behind us who had no regard for anyone's safety. They were running carts into each other and no staff anywhere in site on the course. Kids were rolling in the middle of the fairway on one hole as well.
Thanksgiving Tour
Course in pretty good shape. Large greens, some with a lot of slope. Pins were on some of these slipes or near the edges. Nothing to indicate pin locations on the greens.
Great design
The greens are much improved. They are still soft and slow but grass is good. The fringe is great.
I do find the greens are easier to read for whatever reason so thats good. Even from the senior tees the course plays long requiring many second shots 150+ into the greens which many are elevated and two tier.
Nice layout
The course is layer nicely. Some water but still spacious fairways. Course was wet as usual. Greens were in good condition for end of November.
Muddy and behind a group of 6
This was the longest 18 holes of golf I have ever played. This course looks great, but I am concerned with the soggy tee boxes. As well as groups of 6 golfers clowning around hitting 3-6 shots each stroke. We had to wait 15 minutes at hole 6. And 5-10 minutes at holes 1-5. I called the pro shop and reported it. Not sure our group will be returning.
Excellent course
Challenging course - greens were perfect but fairways a bit wet. Not unique to this course - seems like th whole area has been wet. Tee boxes a bit long but may have been too wet to cut. Be careful on cart paths - some very large roots to contend with. Very picturesque setting nestled in a quiet neighborhood. If not for the wet conditions would rate it 5/5.
Great track for the price
Greens rolled true, not the fastest but very true. Fairways and tee boxes were in good shape as well. Best course for the price in the Charleston area. $20, can’t beat it.
Nice Course
The layout of this course is quite nice. There are rolling hills and beautiful homes along the sidelines
Interesting Course
Not a boring golf course. There are continuously varying circumstances that add interest to the game. There is some whining that the course is too hard, that Bob Spence hates golf, etc.. But that is from people who over pay for their balls and get peeved after they lose a dozen - on the front 9. A few of the greens are occasionally in bad shape, but they get repaired over time.
Tough, challenging course
Keep it in fairways, hit greens, and you will be okay. Undulating greens... a bit slow, but ball rolls good.
Pine Forest
course conditions not perfect, but pretty solid. Front nine is challenging and back nine is slightly easier. Greens have a lot of elevation and a lot of tiers with false fronts....
