The Club at Pine Forest
About
The 18 semi-private holes at Pine Forest wind through the tall Summerville pines with numerous live oaks, dogwoods and a lake system thrown in for good measure. With an equal balance of straightaways, doglegs and elevation changes, this course is nicely balanced, with challenges and fun in store for golfers of all levels. Rental clubs and electric carts are available.
At 6,905 yards with a 138-slope rating, Pine Forest lives up to its name, as the course has numerous barriers of tall Summerville pines to cause problems for an errant shot. The Bob Spence design also makes use of water to add to the difficulty of some holes. It's a semi-private course, and they've named each hole, with No. 12 being known as "Little Augusta" while No. 15 is "Wastelands."

Greens are rough hard to read, ball bounced all the way to the hole on most greens!
COURSE NEEDS SOME WORK AND GOOD WEATHER
This was our first time playing this course. It needs some work. The grass needs to grow in on the fairways and greens. Hopefully as the season goes on the course will improve. Did enjoy the layout - lots of water. I think for the price for the area it's not a bad deal.
Extremely challenging
This course was very challenging because it is tight and the greens are very fast and undulated. The greens were difficult to read and they were in great condition. I definitely would play again and recommend.
careful u might get wet
Pine forest is good looking - in good shape - has a range of fairway widths - few dog legs - hilly fairways and a lot of water
First timer
Nice course with layout. Bunkers need some real sand added. Greens were suffering but overall nice course. Watch out for water
Wet but playable
This Summerville SC course had just been soaked with a couple of days of rain and more was forecast later in the day. The pro shop was very proactive in making sure as a first timer there I knew my way around and seemed genuinely glad to have us on the course even with a GolfNow tee time.A local with tee time behind us offered to play with us to help guide us through the we course but since it was our 31st anniversary we declined. Lots of water around the course and we lost probably more of it share of balls to tough playing conditions and lack of course knowledge. I would definitely love to play this course again under better conditions. Lots of undulating fairways and greens like alot of coastal courses so dryer conditions are pretty crucial for a decent score, but still a fun day. The clubhouse was clean and the hotdogs were good. The greens were in good shape for the most part but slow due to wetness.
Great course for the value
Course drains well. Will be 90 degrees when the rest are cart path only. Very challenging. Great value for the money
Fun course
Greens were slower. Lost a couple balls in the leaves. Lots of water so have to be accurate.
Pretty good course for the money.
Have fun.
Greens a little rough, overall a good challange. Mild afternoon in late nov. Play here 10 to 15 times a yr.
Very challenging layout
This is the second time pace of play has been an issue on this course. We waited on the tee box on almost every hole. There was a frost delay the day we played to be fair, but overbooking was the problem previously.
Great layout but wet
The layout is great. There is a fair amount of water but still has room to play. The greens were so so. Not a course you can play chip and run on. Always wet around the greens.
Fasten your seatbelts
Getting between holes was a journey similar to riding the waves in a small boat in a hurricane.
