The Club at Pine Forest
About
The 18 semi-private holes at Pine Forest wind through the tall Summerville pines with numerous live oaks, dogwoods and a lake system thrown in for good measure. With an equal balance of straightaways, doglegs and elevation changes, this course is nicely balanced, with challenges and fun in store for golfers of all levels. Rental clubs and electric carts are available.
At 6,905 yards with a 138-slope rating, Pine Forest lives up to its name, as the course has numerous barriers of tall Summerville pines to cause problems for an errant shot. The Bob Spence design also makes use of water to add to the difficulty of some holes. It's a semi-private course, and they've named each hole, with No. 12 being known as "Little Augusta" while No. 15 is "Wastelands."

Greens Need Help!
I've played Pine Forest many times over the years and this is about the worst conditions I've seen it in. The greens are particularly in rough shape. I understand that the bad winter weather we experienced this year has impacted some of the area courses but Pine seems to have been hit more than most. Fairways and tee boxes weren't much better.
Hopefully the rain that's scheduled for this week will help the course recover and green up some. This is usually one of the better values in the area and I'll still return to play again and hope for the best regarding conditions.
The layout is challenging, the staff is awesome and the restaurant is good as well. May be time for some monetary nvestment from the owners to bring things up to par. With improved conditions, Pine Forest could easily charge the higher fees that most other area courses are charging. It's a balancing act for course owners but I'd love to see a turnaround at "Little Augusta" and even see a competitive tournament return to Pine!
Difficult course
Hard course with poor green conditions that were tough.
Every hole had obstacles—water, little hills and elevated green. No roll up to the green here.
Hard for non accomplished golfer. Good price. Greens not in good shape and undulating a lot of grade changes.
This course is normally in excellent condition
The only reason it gets a good is due to the greens having weeds on them. But for some reason most of the course i have played are in the same condition. I think the winter weather had a lot to do with the greens. If not for the greens this course would be at the top.
Had a great day
Enjoyed the round. Didn't loose as many balls as before on the water holes. Learning the course now and understanding the safe zones.
Challenging
Friendly staff, Great layout. I am down from WI. And enjoy it and play it several times when I come down. It is a great value and very challenging.
Great day.
Great day. Just traveling through looking for a regulation course at a good price. Generous fairways with some challenging approaches. Early for the greens but they play very true. Playing the course again soon.
Beautiful Course
Spring conditions. The greens were a little rough and the fairways patchy. The layout and variety of holes was great. I’d like to play here once it greens up. It’s gorgeous!
Good skill course
Par 4’s are difficult to reach in regulation so you better have a great short game. Par 3’s and Par 5’s are very fair so make up strokes here. The elevated, undulating greens are challenging. No birdies for me today since a found the water three times. All in all a great time early season.
NEEDS WATER
Course was hard as a rock. Needs some watering. Not all the grass was in yet and won't come in unless they water and water a lot. Really nice layout but the course just needs some TLC. Played it last year and it was even worse. Sad to see a course like this fall to cutting corners on care and upkeep.
Rough winter
Opened our golf trip with a round here, mainly because of its proximity to the Charleston airport. The course wasn’t in its best shape, like many in the area, due to early warm weather, followed by freezing temps. Fairways and rough were both pretty dead, and some greens were beat up, but the surroundings are absolutely gorgeous. Took about 5 hours for our threesome to get around, but it was a very busy Saturday morning. The green complexes were difficult, but were very fun to play. I’m excited to get back to this course after some good weather and give it a proper test.
Enjoyed our round had fun
The course is very challenging. Can't wait for everything to green and thicken up a bit. It winds around a very beautiful housing neighborhood. Would definitely go back and give it another try.
good layout very challenging. they need to work on the greens below avg. condition. Good value for the money.
Nice challenging course
Great course but grass both fairways and greens were not in the best of shape because Spring has not been favorable yet to the grass. I would like to try again in May. The staff both at the pro shop and in the bar/lounge were extremely accommodating and friendly.
Nice course in town
Second time hitting the Club at Pine Forest. The staff are friendly and make you feel at home. Greens took winter hard but I am sure spring will return the to greatness. Way to much water on back 9, well for me at least, lost 11 balls out there. They are swimming with the turtles.
Not busy, guess early in season.
Was a nice 3 hours for 18.

Tough, challenging course!
This is where to play for a challenging round of Golf! Undulating and guarded greens. Must be accurate with your drives; otherwise trouble.
