About
Designed in the classic Scottish tradition, our masterful six-million dollar creation by Pete and P.B. Dye surrounds a sparkling 20 acre freshwater lake, bordered on the west by a 20,000 square foot colonial clubhouse.
The front nine winds through a pine forest in the manner reminiscent of the world famous Dye-designed Harbourtown Golf Course. Only 1/4 mile away from the ocean, the back nine is a more open layout similar to Dye's PGA West course and play is influenced by the prevailing ocean wind.
Prestwick features 8 holes where water comes into play.
Over 1.3 million cubic yards of earth were moved in creating towering Scottish berms, stairway and church pew bunkers, and undulating greens. In addition, more than 10,000 railroad ties were used to create another classic Dye design. Dramatic elevation changes ranging up to thirty feet add an exceptional feature to this coastal location.
Prestwick has been recognized as one of South Carolina's top golf courses and remains enjoyable with extremely limited non-member play and great year-round course conditioning.

This course has great features
Prestwick Country Club is in excellent condition. Fairways and greens in great shape. Beautiful course!
GREENS
THIS COURSE HAD SOME OF THE BEST GREENS I HAVE EVER PLAYED,(30YEARS). THE PACE OF PLAY WAS PERFECT. ON MY LIST THE NEXT TIME I GO TO MYRTLE BEACH.
Loved everything about this course..
Real customer friendly staff, did everything possible to make your day a great day. Play was timely, for as many people playing, the play moved at an expected rate. Course in great shape for the summer, well maintained. Liked it so much I came back two days later to play it again.

Very friendly staff. A very challenging course. Requires different club selection off the tee. Some of the more difficult par 3s I have played.
Nice layout great conditions
An absolutely gorgeous facility with an equally beautiful course. Friendly people. The course is a good test of your game. Would give it 5 stars if it was a little more affordable. I still recommend you play this course at least once. I have about 4 times and was never disappointed.
Pretty Course, good value for less than $60
Given the 1 inch of rain each day I played the course (during the round), the course was not a quagmire. Greens rolled true and were extremely fast... bunkers couldn't handle the rain, but I'm sure during drier conditions they make for a challenge. Staff was nice. For $55 during the week this is a great value, but for over $100 on a weekend, i'm not sure its worth it. I've played $100 courses and the facility and staff didn't seem at that level given range balls are not free, and there are no electronics
Rainy Day at Prestwick
Course almost unplayable due to standing and running water in fairways due to recent and current rains. That said greens were fabulous. Cart path only was proper call.

Every aspect of my experience was very good, except that the greens were too hard. I hit the middle of many greens only to have the ball roll off the green.
