Indigo Creek Golf Club
About
Set in the heart of the Grand Strand's Lowcountry plantation area, Indigo Creek is laid out through large oaks and flowing creeks, especially the back nine, though the views have been somewhat spoiled by housing. The course is built over an old rice and indigo plantation with some nice elevation changes, lakes, waste bunkers and undulating greens. It's a Willard Byrd design, with Bermuda greens and a slope rating of 128.
Indigo Creek is another of those Myrtle Beach-area courses that fell into a disreputable state only to be saved by a new ownership group. One golfer who'd had a bad experience there described it after the refurbishment as the best-conditioned course in Myrtle Beach.
Indigo Creek isn't overly long at 6,744 yards (the shortest of its four sets of tees shortens to 5,921. It is an exciting course with an significant number of doglegs, bunkers and water. The back nine is set among giant oaks and gently flowing creeks.

Golf in December! Indigo Creek Photo submitted by Aldostin1 on 12/27/2019
Greens
Greens are terrible. No grass.Fairways are ok.staff was great.Look I'm sure the weather has not helped. The course is challenging. I'm sure the course will be fun to play once the greens come back.
Great course
Great course to play. Layout was fantastic and staff was very friendly. Only complaint was greens were a bit out of shape, compared to other courses in area. Overall fun layout and we would definitely play next time in town.
Indigo Creek
Love the course and the layout. I would definitely play this course again. Some of the greens were in rough shape, but I think that is due to the drought conditions in South Carolina
Indigo Creek
Have played this course numerous times but found the Staff were having issues with the greens. A majority of the greens appeared to have a fungus and putting was extremely fast because of it. Myrtle Beach has been experiencing drought conditions so the course was very dry. I really like the course but it definitely needs some help.
Enjoyed
Course layout was very nice although a little dry. Staff was great. I’d play this course again.
greens need TLC
Our 4some played front 9 only, & glad not playing 18. While drought conditions have impacted many courses, this was the most stressed greens I've seen this week. No GPS carts left guessing yardage to fairway obstacles, and bring cash or pay +5%.
Needs work.
At approximately $70.00 for the round, this was not a value purchase. The tee boxes were rough, with very little green to tee off of. The fairways were definately not in great shape, either very little grass, or patchy grass moss combination. I was very disappointed with the condition of this course. Pace of play was very slow, an over 5 hour round, with no marshalling system. We waited for our tee time, and when we asked about it, were told we could go whenever we were ready. The staff were great, accommodating and friendly. A great place to go if you're looking for a nice chat, not so good if you're looking to play golf.
Not great
I rarely write bad reviews or reviews in general but this course fell short on many levels. Torn up Tee boxes, poor condition fairways on very hard ground. Greens are nearly bald and are like putting on concrete. Sand is unplayable.. The whole course felt dehydrated and even the old cup inserts were sunk causing hooks for your ball on the green.
Clubhouse is old and run down..
When playing a less expensive course I expect less than perfect but this course doesn't show pride in what they do based on the condition.
I will not return
Jabdilla review
Staff was friendly and I thought course layout was pretty good.greens were in rough shape but had nothing to do with my poor play.i would play it again next year
The greens are burnt up
I was very disappointed in the condition of the golf course. It was $8 less than Long Bay the day before and $15 more than the Links at Brick Landing the day before that. This course is not the class of either of those. Large black spots in all the greens putted differently from the laces where grass was growing. $30 golf course at best.
Not an $80 course….
We have golfed in Indigo Creek for several years because it is close to the vacation property that we stay at. The course has not been maintained and doesn’t rank with other $80 or per round courses (green conditions, tee boxes, no cart service). The pace of play was fine and the staff were friendly, but this is a $40 per round course max.
Fantastic Start to a Weeks worth of Golf
Course was in great condition, clearly it’s still March but the greens rolled true and were pretty quick and were somewhat receptive. Ball had a lot of roll out in the Fairways. Staff were beyond friendly! Pace of play for a Sunday was amazing.
DE
From the time we pulled up, the staff was there to help us in loading the clubs and they sent us off a couple minutes early. Pleasantly surprised in the condition of the course, looked amazing and played wonderful. The greens were very quick and I would go back and make it every trip I made. I’d add this to my trip! Thanks to all that we were involved!
