Set in the heart of the Grand Strand's Lowcountry plantation area, Indigo Creek is laid out through large oaks and flowing creeks, especially the back nine, though the views have been somewhat spoiled by housing. The course is built over an old rice and indigo plantation with some nice elevation changes, lakes, waste bunkers and undulating greens. It's a Willard Byrd design, with Bermuda greens and a slope rating of 128.

Indigo Creek is another of those Myrtle Beach-area courses that fell into a disreputable state only to be saved by a new ownership group. One golfer who'd had a bad experience there described it after the refurbishment as the best-conditioned course in Myrtle Beach.

Indigo Creek isn't overly long at 6,744 yards (the shortest of its four sets of tees shortens to 5,921. It is an exciting course with an significant number of doglegs, bunkers and water. The back nine is set among giant oaks and gently flowing creeks.

If greens were nice it would be a very good course

The greens were easily the worst greens I’ve ever played on. It was essentially dirt and rocks for greens. My ball would bounce towards the hole. It became comical. Otherwise the course was fine and the area was nice. No other problems.

Greens unplayable

Course was great from tee to green, but just pick it up when on green!! Completely dried up greens - no point on putting.

1st timer

Staff was super helpful and was paired with a local. Only problem was a lot of the greens were in pretty bad shape. Not much grass to putt on. I get it with the lack of rain in the area. Would be willing to play it again when I come back.

First Time

The course was in good condition for early May. The winter weather played havoc with many of the greens as there were black spots on most and some, most of the green. I spoke with someone on the grounds crew who explained the winter weather. Although the greens had a lot of black areas, they putted fine. I'll play again, hoping for better conditions of the greens.

Poor greens

The course itself is good. The greens were really poor for spring. Maybe over half didn’t have much grass and the grass that was there was long and changed the ball roll. I was hoping for better after they renovated.

Great course

Great course to play. Layout was fantastic and staff was very friendly. Only complaint was greens were a bit out of shape, compared to other courses in area. Overall fun layout and we would definitely play next time in town.

Indigo Creek

Love the course and the layout. I would definitely play this course again. Some of the greens were in rough shape, but I think that is due to the drought conditions in South Carolina

Indigo Creek

Have played this course numerous times but found the Staff were having issues with the greens. A majority of the greens appeared to have a fungus and putting was extremely fast because of it. Myrtle Beach has been experiencing drought conditions so the course was very dry. I really like the course but it definitely needs some help.

greens need TLC

Our 4some played front 9 only, & glad not playing 18. While drought conditions have impacted many courses, this was the most stressed greens I've seen this week. No GPS carts left guessing yardage to fairway obstacles, and bring cash or pay +5%.

Needs work.

At approximately $70.00 for the round, this was not a value purchase. The tee boxes were rough, with very little green to tee off of. The fairways were definately not in great shape, either very little grass, or patchy grass moss combination. I was very disappointed with the condition of this course. Pace of play was very slow, an over 5 hour round, with no marshalling system. We waited for our tee time, and when we asked about it, were told we could go whenever we were ready. The staff were great, accommodating and friendly. A great place to go if you're looking for a nice chat, not so good if you're looking to play golf.
