Bang for your buck
Fairly priced, comp range balls, friendly staff, greens were hard fast and predictable. Fun course
Well deserved high rating
I haven't played here in a few years and I am reminded of how well deserved the high ratings and raves are for this course. The conditions are excellent and the holes offer challenge for the average and seasoned player. Fairways are forgiving with a few bunkers here and there but nothing penal. Missing the fairway by a 10-15 feet gets you into light rough but any further may find the native grass and an imposssible lie, or even a lost ball. Water is ever present on several holes but only a few strain you to cover the distance for clearance.
The greens are the main protection for this course as there are gentle undulations on every green and very few straight-in putts, especially if you are any distance away from the hole. Plus, just like the fairways, you have room to miss left or right of the green but if you are further off, native grass and maybe a lost ball. Be prepared for a few 3 putts if your reads are off.
The back 9 is slightly easier that the front. The first two holes are a favorite withbthe par 4, 10th a short uphill hole with a tricky green and the pat 5, 11th is picturesque with the need for a pinpoint drive no more than 200y-215y (frommthe blues) before you have a second shot to a fairway that is easily 150 feet below. The next 2 holes are short par 4s, a nice par 3 over water, and then a nice few challenges until you get to a very accessible par 5, 18th that is a very pretty hole.
Enjoy your day.
First time wont be the last
Great layout, facilities, people and pace of play. conditions were very good especially considering the hot dry weather conditions we have been experiencing. practice facilities were something I would expect from a high end resort style course. The staff are friendly, the only weak point was non golf related and that is the snack counter left something to be desired. They control their tee times well as it was a busy day and we did not wait all day while playing in position. Highly recommend this track for any skill level.
Pin?
Pin placement on a few holes was a bit ridiculous for us amateurs.
Best Public Course in East Tennessee
Course was in epic shape! East Tennessee weather has been very dry this summer and most golf courses are dried out and mostly dormant. Not Egwani Farms! Absolutely fantastic conditions! Play here and you will not be disappointed!
Extremely top line course!
A gem close to the middle of nowhere. Some very interesting holes, terrific greens, not excessively difficult. Nice clubhouse, staff is great.
Nice course
Lots of water to add challenges to the round of golf.
First Time At Egwani
Overall very nice course. Grounds were well kept and the staff was friendly. Greens were very quick throughout the round but at least they were consistent. We had a great time playing the course.
Overal
Excellent course
Fantastic challenge
Not many Tennessee hills which is good for the older folks.
Loved it all. Will return
Egwani Farms Golf Course
Fairways and greens in perfect condition. Whoever is superintendent is doing wonderful job.
Fun course
Course is fun and challenging with fast greens and pretty fairways. Lots of water as well. Could use more bathrooms.
Slow Play
Certain holes on the course create clogs in the pace of play. However, since there is a PA system at the club house for announcing starting groups, the staff time could be better used as marshal for the pace of play rather than simply starting groups. There should be a ranger pushing slow groups to speed up especially since there are many new players playing courses without a good understanding of course educate.
Condition of the golf course was incredible!
Job well done to the Golf Course Superintendent and his/her team!
The condition of all the shortcut was near perfect for this time of the year. The greens rolled so true and had great speed to them. Bunkers played how they were supposed to play. The rough was very manageable to play out of which is great for public golf. The price to play here is easily a steal in my opinion just for the condition of the golf course alone. So kudos to the golf course maintenance team!
