About
Sterling Hills Golf Club sprawls across acres of lush countryside surrounded by avocado groves and citrus orchards. The layout winds through the verdant hills between Oxnard and Ventura. The club opened in 1999 as the only public golf course in Ventura County. The layout is player-friendly enough for beginners to still feel comfortable but it also packs a considerable amount of challenges. The versatile layout balances areas of wide-openness with target-style golf. There is contoured mounding along the fairways and some interesting elevation changes. Thanks to the hilly terrain, there is hardly a flat lie to be found. Although Sterling Hills is still relatively young, there are some mature eucalyptus trees throughout. Golfers can warm-up on the driving range, chipping area, or putting green before the game since a bucket of range balls is included with the round.

I love this course! Great layout and friendly staff. I wish the grounds were a little better kept, but not a huge issue that will result in me not returning!

Can't get a tee time
Actually did not play on September 3rd because I cannot get a tee time each time I log on and try to get a tee time there's nothing available and there a block of tee times are gone... I no longer try to make a tee time.
Bad decision
We love Sterling Hills, we love the lunch vouchers and the practice balls and range BUT the new putting green was a real bad decision for the club and the golfers. I know it's part of the wedding business to move the green but the new place is uneven and very boring and is no fun to putt on. There has to be a better place on the grounds....the place is too classy to have such a downer for a putting green.

Never abad day for golf.
I hadn’t played for almost 2 years. Enjoyed it as much as I had previously when I was playing more regularly. Staff very friendly in all areas. The small lunch with the price is nice. .

Course conditions do not warrant the price
Let me start by saying that I play this course the first week it opened many years ago. I have seen the scores go downhill gradually under different owners and just recently it was in the war shape ever until a new owner took over and started bringing it back. The efforts are appreciated but aside from the greens, which are excellent, the rest of the course is not in great shape and therefore in my opinion the green fees are way too high for this course and the condition of it.

Course in good shape!
I have played Sterling Hills a number of times and always enjoy this course. Course is in good shape and staff is fantastic. Golf shop staff and cafe staff are great!

Nice course but poor value due to high price!!!
The course is nice but the price is way way higher than other local courses. They have raised their prices significantly since middle of covid and it is now not a course I usually play. Way too expensive for the value!

Value
I think $61 is a but high because average cost for play on other public courses us $40-50 and the lunch is nit worth $20. Charge less and don’t include lunch or make it an option.

Great tract with many tee options.
GREAT putting practice area and Driving Range.
Did the round in under 4 hours
Drink cart girl, Gidget, was hilarious and easy on the eyes.
Playing there again tomorrow with my Son

Sterling HIlls is hard to beat in Camarillo. Great value, challenging course, and a very friendly staff at the clubhouse. We always have a great experience here.
