About
Sterling Hills Golf Club sprawls across acres of lush countryside surrounded by avocado groves and citrus orchards. The layout winds through the verdant hills between Oxnard and Ventura. The club opened in 1999 as the only public golf course in Ventura County. The layout is player-friendly enough for beginners to still feel comfortable but it also packs a considerable amount of challenges. The versatile layout balances areas of wide-openness with target-style golf. There is contoured mounding along the fairways and some interesting elevation changes. Thanks to the hilly terrain, there is hardly a flat lie to be found. Although Sterling Hills is still relatively young, there are some mature eucalyptus trees throughout. Golfers can warm-up on the driving range, chipping area, or putting green before the game since a bucket of range balls is included with the round.

I enjoy everything about this coarse. Great value, beautiful, good shape, and the staff is very friendly

Coastal Canyon Tournament
The staff is great, the course is challenging, even more so than usual with heavy winds. Played the back tees and the landing areas are great for good drives, trouble right and left on most holes but it is definitely playable if you keep the ball in play. If not, suffer the penalty as with any other course. It is a solid test of golf and a great bargain for the area.

I love this course. Not the hardest and not the easiest. It’s fair. Very well cared for. Greens are super even with the huge amount of play it gets. Love the staff. Personable and efficient. Clearly one of the better Los Angeles County courses. Wish it was closer. Far away from the San Fernando Valley but worth the drive.

New Favorite Course
I live in Newport Beach and there are loads of courses near me but Sterling Hills has become my new favorite. I drive about 1 hour and 20 minutes north and the drive is 100% worth the round of golf. You get a great pace of play, pristine fairways, great greens, and great bang for your buck. Love this place! I have played twice in the past month and already made another tee time to go back in another 2 weeks.

Fantastic Layout
Greens were punched, but in good shape. Love the layout, some very interesting holes. New tees make this course a challenge.

I like this course
Excellent value of the money. I'd play here a lot more, but it's a bit far (from the east side of the San Fernando Valley)
