The course is in excellent shape. Greens running true and smooth. Well done to the maintenance crew for polishing this gem.

I’m a 77 year old golfer with a 12 hcp. The White Tees allow me to play fairly well, low 80’s, high 70’s. The course is fair and beautiful and fun to play. Wish I lived close by to play her more often.

After my last round i was very disappointed and called the coarse to complain. There response was to give me voucher for my foursome to play again. This time the experience was so much better. Thanks to the staff for making this right. We will return to play again.

Since this course changed ownership there have been many upgrades to include the physical plant, snack bar, fairways and overall golfing experience. Lunch is included in green fees. Air temp 15-20 degrees cooler than San Fernando Valley.

This is my new house me course. The course layout is awesome. Depending on tee box selection offers a great challenge to all levels. The greens run about 12 and the pin placements made for challenging fun for my entire group of four who play at different levels. I have had issues with tee times booked on golf now but they were always accommodating when we arrived. The weather in Ventura county is always a bit cooler than the valley so it’s perfect! The light breeze always offer a bit of a challenge as well. I highly recommend anyone to come out and see for yourself what I have experience.

Love this course right off the 101.....fast greens.....well maintained and a great staff.... need some shots here but not overwhelming....grind 6 strikes the second time I played it.....these some strategy......im a 13 index and loved the challange

Sterling is a wonderful perfect golf course, people working here are very helpful and they go out of there way to make you feel welcome and enjoy your time at play.

I play here maybe once a month, when I can't get tee times at my other local favorites. Right now (Jul 1) conditions are ok. The greens are very good, relative to other local courses. The fairways and rough not so much. Lots of rough patches and its kikuyu, so lots of bad lies, and hard ground as the course dries out. Aprons around the greens are really rough. All and all the condition is pretty average, but there have been improvements (especially tees and greens). My biggest bone to pick is the last 2 times I've played the pace of play was horrible, especially on the back nine. This last round I just quit as there was a 3 group wait on the 10th, with a Sixsome playing and no ranger - this on a Wednesday. The previous time I played it was a 6-hour round on a Sunday. Not sure if I'm just unlucky, or this is the norm, but it discourages me from wanting to return.

Teed off at 7:36 with a good friend. Got paired up with a very nice couple from the South Bay. Had not been there in a while and noticed they put in a new putting green behind the driving range which was nice. Conditions I work great as usual. Greens were rolling well a little slow in the morning dew but they sped up as things heated up. Staff is always extremely nice. The breakfast burrito at the turn was amazing. I’m looking forward to coming back.

The course’s work to bring it back to how it used to be is paying off. Greens are excellent, on the soft-side today being a bit more receptive but rolled smoothly. Very nice to putt on.

Fairways are almost all back, even Hole 5 looks so much better! A few tee boxes need a bit of levelling, such as Hole 11, it was a bit lumpy and the tee markers had been put at the very back edge which was a bit diagonal also.

But overall I’m glad it’s in so much better shape than it was just a couple years back. I really hope it gets back to how it used to be.

I used to love this course. Played here very often now it seems that the tee sheet is overbooked on a Monday... my round took 6 hours. The only time I saw the ranger driving around was on the first hole when he warned us it would be slow and blamed it on the US Open and people wanting to play today. The thing is they set te tee sheet, you can't just overbooked because people want to play. Also, there is more and more very dry spots on the course and in certain place I can definitely tell that they use paint to color the grass. Wink wink

The course itself is in great shape and very enjoyable to play. However it is pricey since a lunch is included but the price is not worth it. I think if you would give people the option of no lunch and lowere the price by 10 to 15 dollare it becomes competive with the surrounding couirses.

I had not played Sterling Hills for one year. The last time I played I was dissatisfied with the course conditions. I am happy to say they have made a vast improvement. Greens were in great condition. Fairways were in good condition. They have added a tee box and made the course much more player friendly. It is slightly pricier than comparable courses but they do include range balls and lunch. I would definitely recommend this course.
