the slow pace ruined the day. that happens alot at Sterling Hills.Only played there because it was a golfnow.com ''Hot Deal'...Always expect alot of waiting there. And, during historically high unemployment, they raised the rates when they reopened after the pandemic closure. ''Its about supply and demand'' they said. Best sand around though. Pretty place. Ive been playing there and around for 25 years. The pace is usually bad.

This cours course is in much better condition every time we play it and the layout and the design is great. The person working in the pro shop was friendly and seemed happy to see everyone, but the person working the snack shop was in the worst mood of anyone I've ever seen in a business he should be trained or fired. They were pretty busy but thats no reason to snap at people.

We walked and finished the front 9 in 2:30, slow but the group behind us was a full 1-2 holes behind. At the turn the Marshal (Larry) told us to speed it up, we said sure, even though still no one close to us. At 13 the Marshal very rudely told us we hadn't sped up and threatened to make us play from the ladies' tees. Huh? The group behind was still 1-2 holes back. We ended up playing the back 9 in 2:05, 4:35 total, so it was unclear why there was a problem, and there was absolutely no excuse for how rude Larry the Marshal had been. Called and spoke to the manager, who said yes Larry had a problem with being rude but was totally unapologetic and thought speeding us up was the right thing to do, even though there wasn't anyone close to us! Oh yeah, there was a ton of ground under repair. Rude Marshal, clueless manager, and poor course condition is the trifecta - I won't be coming back.

Getting a cart is a pain - they are never ready - I want to get my cart - go out to the parking - put my shoes on - pack my bag into the cart - take my time - no - they don't have the carts ready until maybe 5 minutes before your round starts - so I have to drag my bag from the parking lot and wait around until they call my name / then have to quickly put my stuff on the cart and hurry to the starter - got to be a better way

Although the fairways are under repair, the course is still fun to play.

Greens in great shape . Rock hard. They are working on fairways some re sod and fairways are fluffy . Will look spectacular when finished.great course

Course is being worked on to be even better. This is a hidden gem in Ventura county. Staff is very friendly. Pace of play is usually really good. Tees off at 3:15-walking and just got our round finished.

Played this course because of the heat wave in So CA. It was 99 degrees when we teed off. The course was 20 minutes behind. Decent shape but lots of ground under repair. Book on golf now that’s the deal otherwise rack rate is high.

I’d play it again, and recommend if you haven’t played there give it a try.

Don't know how I never heard or ran into this course. Glad I did. It is situated inside a housing community but the homes don't really come into play unless you really hit bad. Most holes are very fair some are devilish. Price is fair for what you play. The weather in the summer is comfortable.

The course is not difficult but it isn't dull either. Weather is all good, doesn't get the summer heat. Course conditions are gradually improving. They are actively working on fairways. Greens roll true, a little slow. T Boxes are pretty good everywhere. Cost is a bit under average for the area and they offer deals packaging food with the round and a small bucket of balls is alway part of the green fee.

The greens are in good condition, but sanded on this day. Fairways were a little firm in some spots, causing me to hit some shots thin. Overall, the course is always fun to play. I wish more people would fix their divots. So annoying!!
