Randolph Oaks Golf Course
About
The Randolph Oaks Golf Course is an 18-hole course that provides 7,172 yards of championship golf located only thirty minutes from downtown. After a much-needed update, the course now boasts renovated greens and sand traps that provide more challenge than the original design.
It is an enjoyable course to walk, making it a good option for juniors and seniors. The layout features a cut of rough around the greens, which have several breaks in them that make them pretty tricky. There are also numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. Randolph Oaks is open year-round and it also offers a lighted driving range with putting greens for golfers to get some extra practice.

Always Improving
My only gripe about this place is that it is so popular among Vets in the area it is always packed no matter the day of the week. I wish they had the room on the base to expand another 9 to 18 holes even if it was just a par 3 to alleviate some of the congestion. The course itself has great amenities, great layout and is pretty awesome that it’s so close to the flight line adding a unique experience to the course. I went in the winter and I though that once the rain came the course would be in great condition and I was right! The greens are good and the cuts for the fairway and rough are puffy and soft. Great for play!
SLOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW
I HAVE PLAYED HERE TWICE. BOTH TIMES THE PLAYERS AND THE STAFF HAVE EXACTLY ZERO CONCERN FOR PACE OF PLAY. STILL A GOOD COURSE AND A GREAT PRICE
Check the weather
Only git 2 holes in before a rainstorm, no refund no voucher probably take a break from them
WORST CONDITIONS EVER
We should have canceled our afternoon tee time when we saw the thunderstorm over the course the preceding afternoon!!!!!!!!! But we had no idea the drainage on the course was soooo abysmal. Casual water on most (every?) fairways, some in front of greens bigger and deeper than the bunkers, others adjacent to the fairways bigger than a tennis court!!! Our feet were wet from the 1st hole on :-(((
Additional, rough that is knee high makes for a great set up for a Major Championship course but causes slow and discouraging play for recreational golfers on a Muni type course (the single in front of us was a 1st time golfer). We feel the management should have closed the course and had the grounds crew identify and mark the problem drainage areas in order to correct the problems.
On the bright side, the grass was the best we have seen in the 10 years that we have been playing there :-)))
fairways and greens are one of the best I have played and I played La Cantera for 10 years while I was a marshal there. The Valero Texas open was held there 3 of those years. The layout has a few problems for the average golfer but nothing serious except for #18. Great course!!!
Nice course with fun doglegs
The course is in really good shape due to all the rain that we received over the past several weeks. I am sure all the golf courses in San Antonio are experiencing the same.
Played this course many times and have a fun experience. The greens are awesome right now and I hope they stay that way for a long time.
Only gripe I have is not for the course, but for people that seem to be in a rush and constantly hitting into our group. The 2 groups in front of us were also waiting on groups in front of them. It was a little slow and the group behind us could not figure out the concept that we also had to wait on every shot.
Anyways, enough gripping. Good course to play and I will be back there soon to make another round.
Course was very good for the price.
Tees and fairways in very good condition. Greens need some work. The drought hasn't help. I've enjoyed playing this course for over 20 years and consider it worth the price to play.
