Randolph Oaks Golf Course
About
The Randolph Oaks Golf Course is an 18-hole course that provides 7,172 yards of championship golf located only thirty minutes from downtown. After a much-needed update, the course now boasts renovated greens and sand traps that provide more challenge than the original design.
It is an enjoyable course to walk, making it a good option for juniors and seniors. The layout features a cut of rough around the greens, which have several breaks in them that make them pretty tricky. There are also numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. Randolph Oaks is open year-round and it also offers a lighted driving range with putting greens for golfers to get some extra practice.

This course is okay besides the horrendous tee time situation and long waits
We scheduled a tee time for 1:04 didn’t tee off till past 1:30
It’s jungle rules here anytime after 12pm and staff seem to be just fine with the pace of play and the backed up first tee. Other than that it’s a simple course wide open fairways are clean and the greens are fairly maintained. Good course for beginner golfers.
Better staff
My group had a 12:58 time tee and any one who’s come out a play after 12pm you have to get in line to play doesn’t matter if you have a tee time or not. The staff member told us it is a first come first service and we was like it doesn’t say that on the golf app when you purchase so it was a 5 hr round. I think it should better or let people know.
Cart path
This is the third time I played the course it is a very good course and overall I’ve had a very good experience. This time, however even though the fairways were mostly dry, they still wanted to keep the carts on cartpath only not even the 90° rule. Which I understand however, it was difficult for me because I cannot walk that much. It’s a reason why I use a cart. I had to stop after nine holes and Collett a day. Yes they did tell me ahead of time however, since I had already paid with Golf now, and there’s no refunds, I figured I would give it a shot at least for nine to see if I could do it which I was not able to. I was in pain by the ninth hole from all the walking . Aside from that everything was great.
Good fun
Very cool day. Met with two other players I had never met. Nice people and the wait on most holes bearable. Managed to navigate most of the water hazards. Greens were in great shape and fairly fast.
Weird layout
Course is very good condition. The greens were perfect, no burnt areas, new weed areas, no fire ant mounts. The nicest greens I've played on in San Antonio. At first I thought the guy behind the desk was not going to be of the friendly short. Seem a tiny bit perturb that we were using golf now and demanded to see that we had a zero balance due at the course. He said that golf now doesn't provide them that information. Just doing this job I guess. After that he was really great complimented my grandson on coming out to play golf and said he was happy to see family out enjoying the golf course. Turned out to be a really super nice guy. The course layout is very strange and our group got lost a couple times. We will probably remember where we went wrong before and not have this problem again.
Beware: on hole 4 there is a bridge out over one of the streams. It looks like the bridge collapsed in the middle but it was not marked or blocked by any barrier at the entrance of the bridge. I got halfway across to where the bridge actually collapsed and realized that somebody had pushed out of the way the orange and white barrier. I couldn't back up so I ended up driving over the rubble.
Randolph Oaks First Time Playing
Check in was fast, able to play at reserved tee time. Course was interesting and a good variety for the layout. The greens were in good condition, the fairways are ok, the rough needs the grass clippings to be blowed so you can find your ball. Pace of play was excellent, the foursome allowed me to okay through at hole 12, nice courtesy. I enjoyed the round and would play it again.
Kudos Randolph staff; course in superior condition!!
One of the best maintained courses right now; beautiful cannot beat the price!!! Condition on par if not better than pricier golf courses around town.
Hidden Gem!
First time playing this course. Course was in great shape from T- boxes to greens. ALL water hazards were full making the course visibly appealing. Noticeably absent were weeds along cart paths, around & on greens. Areas typically allowed to become overgrown have been cut back / reducd to allow for a clean & professional look.. Kudos to the GC ground crew & staff for their hard work! I will be back.
Great Course
Second time playing and it didn’t disappoint. Course was in great shape as it was last time. Excellent greens. Quick and smooth.
