Fort Belvoir Golf Club - Gunston Course

course has not been watered, fairways burning out, rough full of clumps and burnt out.

The greens still had holes still visible from over a month ago.

Greens were good, but fairways and rough were awful. Needs so muck work.

Fairways are not watered and are very hard. Greens are in good condition.

Fairways are still a bit rough (hard, dry and inconsistent grass) . Greens are range from good to excellent and pretty consistent hole to hole.

Greens are good to very good; fairways are a bit rough and hard; off fairways is terrible...long grass and very difficult to find ball especially with high number of hidden fairways. Great value with very good restaurant/bar.

Still early in the season so fairways are horrible as is the fringe and rough. Pace of play was horrible as a twosome behind two foursomes. The foursome could have let us through as we were waiting almost 5 minutes per shot. Two hours not a bad pace for a foursome but deadly for a twosome as normally 1.5 hours is good. No Marshall to help us out but after nine we squeaked past the group I front of us and the front foursome offered to let us play through so we did. Course still needs time to grow in.

We played Gunston. Greens are

rolling nicely. Fairways are patchy. Sand traps are mud. The layout is nice with a variety of holes. The value is pretty solid.

Nice…greens recently aerated so putting a bit of a challenge.

First, there are so many different gates to get into the fort and no one seems to know which one to use. Second, even though I had multiple IDs, in addition to.my drivers license they would only accept an ORIGINAL passport or Birth certificate. I had photos of them to show but i dont carry them around with me. Third, why donthey need to be so rude and unfriendly. Lastly, and most importantly, Golf Now would not let me cancel even though my Tee time wasnt for another hour. Lost money.

Course is in good shape for winter and greens are in really good shape - fast and rolling well.

I’m an idiot and didn’t know that it you need to get security clearance to Enter the base. If you scroll on this app to the part where it says notes it will tell you this. So basically I lost the money and couldn’t get it back.

Course is taken care of well. It's nowhere close to the best course in the DC area, but for the price, it is definitely better than alternatives. You won't be disappointed spending $50.

I played fast as a single, but others were happy to Play with me or let me play through.

It is a very nice course with a great layout. Very rude and unorganized staff at the clubhouse (not the bar). Greens were in ok condition but the bunkers are in poor conditions.
