Victoria Golf Course

The most bombed out golf course that isn’t actually in a war zone is still fun to play. The grounds crew watching videos on their phones while they lurk in their tractors just close enough to the tee boxes and rev their engines in my back swing and the old timer chipping nine balls onto the green in front of me are just a few of the unique features of this course. This place is a monument to the concept that golf is the most fun you can have while angry. Use the scorecard as a map and make up your own rules because the USGA rules are effectively suspended after you lose a ball down a gopher hole in the middle of the first fairway.

The only thing worse than the course conditions is the absolute disregard for any of the USGA rules of golf and the most basic sense of golf etiquette by the lovely people who play here.

First off, the staff in pro shop, would rather talk to their colleagues than help U at the counter. The course was nothing but dirt fairways, greens were the only reason to finish the round.

The tee boxes are not well manicured, the fairways have no grass so your hitting from rock hard dirt, the bunkers are also like hard dirt and the greens were so saturated the water would come out as you walked on them. The cart pat would have been a better lie at this place.

If it weren't for the fairways we would give this course an excellent rating. Lots of dirt, instead of grass. Could have played it like a desert course, but no grassy patches to aim for. The greens however were incredible, and probably the best we've ever golfed on, they were even "spongy".

People there should be hitting golf balls on the range before playing a course

Definitely challenging gotta keep your eyes on your ball expecting bad bounces here and there really nice greens tho everything else well your golfing in the dessert lol

Horrible fairways; perfect greens. Best taken as a day of on-course practice.

Solo tee time at 9:30am. Got around in 3:30 even with extra chipping and putting while waiting for the next hole to clear. Bigest challenge is finding balls even when hit down the middle.

Victoria GC is a shadow of its former years. Highly neglected golf course that probably should have taken the deal years ago to sell, which I wouldn’t say lightly as much rather have more golf courses to play. However, Victoria is now not playable with no signs of coming change. At best if you want a place to just practice your swing and take extra shots on a live course, Victoria would be the place.

Most fairways were pretty barren without any grass but the greens were all pretty well kept! The sand was pretty wet and not hittable for bunker shots. Pace of play was great and there were no issues getting through the course! Friendly staff and decent course layout. Would definitely play again but hope they can fix those fairways.

Tee time was at 8am. Arrived 10 early and was told they did now have any carts available. Waited over an hour for the next available cart. Staff did not bother to offer a water or even a small snack for the inconvenience. 1 star review!!
