About
The 18-hole Dogwood Trace Golf Course (formerly known as Lee Park Golf Course) in Petersburg, VA is a public golf course. Stretching over 6600 yards from the back tees while playing to a par 72 the course features four different sets of tee boxes and can be enjoyed by players of all skill levels. Players will find extensive bunkering lakes and ponds with bulkheads that come into play on several holes and well-manicured challenging greens.

Play it again
Such a nice place to play. Every time l’m in the area l play. Had a puppy running around the course keeping me company. Played 27! Thoroughly enjoyable
Challenging for all levels. Great greens.
Very nice layout. A couple of long and challenging par 4s. We think the course plays well for all level amateur golfers. The greens are great but much better if ball marks are repaired! We will return.

Nicest in tri cities
Been playing here for the past 5 years. Good course excellent conditions.
I would like to see the clubhouse be open more. They are losing a lot of business.

Very nice track
Dogwood Trace is a gem. Always well kept. Staff is great. Good practice facility. Pace of play was good. Water was provided throughout course and ice and water at the pro shop for you start, turn and finish. My usual complaint, people are not fixing their ball-marks and many were hard to miss craters. Greens were nice but a bit furry and slow. Fairways were also a bit long and rough had a lot of areas that were pretty deep and the ball would disappear. Dogwood Trace is well worth playing and though we didn't stop in this time, the restaurant/bar is nice after round

Wash the carts!
Everything was great but the carts were super dirty and looked run-down. I thought they got new carts but I'm sure these weren't them. Spray them off and wipe them down. The gunk on the side of the seats and dirt on the inside of them is horrible. Other than that the course was in great shape although not many people fixing ball marks on the green, and the staff was super friendly especially the young man behind the counter and the starter Mr. Young.

Great shape
Other than some yahoo ahead of us that kept dropping his wedge on the greens without fixing the damage, and a few other ball marks on the greens, the course was in the best shape I’ve seen it all year

Great course, especially for the value
Played on a stopover in Petersburg. Got in a few minutes early and I was sent off right away by myself. The conditions are very good- no rough tee boxes, greens are in good shape, fairways are cut a little long but also in great shape. The layout was fun and exciting. Nothing boring, lots of undulation and a few really interesting green sites. I wish I had a course like this near me. And for $27 twilight fee I couldn’t believe it! I would love to play here again. Don’t miss it if you’re in the area.

Beautifully maintained course
Very well kept and moderately challenging course. I just wish more people would fix their divots on the greens. Maybe they should give away cheap plastic divot tools at the desk.

Great Course
Awesome place all the staff are amazing, very friendly and kid friendly as well. One of the best places to play in the area. Always in good shape. Sometimes its packed with people, but that is to be expected. Will continue go play there for years to come. Keep up the great work Jamie and Mike

Great Value
The greens and fairways are in great shape right now. The course is one of the best public courses around and it's nearly half the price of some of the others. It's a decently challenging course if you play the back (gold) tees. I was a little sad that my round got cut short due to the weather, but I'll for sure be back.

What a great deal
The course is in pretty great shape right now. Bunkers are good sand, fairways and greens are well maintained, the tee boxes are in good shape too. Two small things that could be improved; the rough is a bit too short and I think letting it grow out just a little would be great. And distance markers in the fairway would be helpful. There are basically none so distance is a guessing game. If you have a distance finder, be sure to bring it with charged batteries. Otherwise, great course.
