Nice Muni
We played on Father’s Day Sunday, so the course was understandably busy. However, there was no starter or marshal on duty, which led to slow play—we found ourselves waiting on nearly every tee box and fairway. The course itself was in good condition overall, with well-maintained greens and fairways. That said, the layout can get a bit chaotic, as wayward shots often end up in adjacent fairways. Despite the pace of play, we still had a good time and enjoyed the round.
Happy camper
When you check in the friendliness begins and continues through the lovely lady starter. The personnel at Dogwood treat you in a way that makes you feel welcome and that they actually thank you for choosing Dogwood and it is genuine .The course is somewhat challenging but for the most part very player friendly. There is a great warm-up area, driving range, practice bunker, chipping and pitching area along with a nice putting green.
Flags on the green
This course was a great shape. Only one complaint there are no pin sheet they have gone to no identification on the green they say use your rangefinder, but if you’re using a laser rangefinder, you still don’t know if you’re in the front or back unless you’re close enough to actually see it that is a problem because some of the better golfers only carry the laser like Bushnell so a couple of times I put the ball in the wrong spot because I didn’t know where the pin was even though I had the yardage I couldn’t tell if that was a back pan or front pan. They said they got rid of the red yellow blue color flag and now they have just blue with no indication. A simple remedy would be to tie a yellow ribbon on the flag and just slide it up and down for wherever the hole is on the green so when you shoot your laser when you see the yellow flag down low, you know it’s in the front and if it’s out, how about the flag you know it’s in the back and then the yellow ribbons in the middle of the flag, you know it’s in the middle of the green. This would be very inexpensive to do. It would really help us out a great deal. I love the new pretty blue flag. I just need to know where it is on the green. I love this golf course.
I cannot get enough of this course
I am visiting a few weeks while my husband works. I have been back three times. The greens are a dream, the staff is friendly and the course really caters to people like me with a short drive. Hoping to visit one last time before we leave.
Great rounf.
Booked 2 persons for 18 holes. Called and added a third person and paid for all at the course. A fourth person joined our group for the round. Pace of play was great. Course was in good condition. Beverage girl came around on both ftint and back nine. Good touch as it was hot and we needed the cold water.
Great Value
Dogwood Trace Golf Course is a great layout and a fair challenge for both the beginner and advanced golfer. Greens are in nice shape, and roll pretty smooth for the amount of play they get. People unfortunately are bad about fixing ball marks here since it’s public and always packed on weekends. Only downside to this course is the pace of play here can be bad, it’s always backed up on weekends in my experience. Mostly slow play is because they have no ranger staggering tee times and people start on both hole 1 and 10 — so there are multiple groups on most holes. It also doesn’t help that there are 5 short par 5s that are reachable so naturally there will be expected delays and backups around those holes. Overall great course. I love the design and the 16th island green par 3. Fair price, nice value. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Amenities are great with a range, putting and chipping greens. They have gear in golf-shop and a grill as well for any drink and snack needs.
Fantastic Greens
I love this course. I am an old lady with a short drive, so forward forward tees give me a chance. If I lived here I would be a member, unfortunately just visiting.
Enjoyable round...as a single behind 2 foursomes.
I played as a single behind 2 foursomes who never offered to let me play through. Fortunately there was no one behind me so I re-played several holes. Nice course, greens were consistent, layout was interesting. Would play again.
Perfect conditions are coming!
Another week or two and the fairways should be as good as they’re going to get.!! The seasons here!!
If you like to follow 6-somes and 5-somes
If you like to follow a 6-some or a 5-some with no rangers to monitor pace, which was awful, then this course is for you. There were no rangers and we waited up to 10-15 min on almost every hole. When I went to pro-shop to inquire about Rangers and state my complaints I was met with “don’t like to hear that” and a condensing “thank you Dear” We had a 5 some in front of us and a 6 some in front of them for the round. We walked off on the 17th hole when we were done waiting another 15 min to possibly tee off! Will not go again nor recommend
Best course in area
Been playing here since 2002. They’ve improved facilities over the years. Big makeover during winter. Front is pretty simple and back provides challenges. Best course in the area in my opinion!
Diamond the Rough
The staff treats you like they appreciate you choosing this course. The fairways, understandably. are still patcyhy but there are sign of filling out soon. The golf course is fun to play and some holes, into the wind gusts, were somewhat challenging but that is the fun of the "unknown,"
