Golfer Reviews
Great Outing
Dogwood Trace remains an outstanding value and excellent course for a round of golf for all levels. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Important to know your capabilities in order to pick the right tee box for your game as the white tees have several long and challenging par fours.
Beautiful round.
Course was dry and slightly fast. Although we didn't have a tee time, we were able to get on after a very minimal wait for a senior morning wave to finish. Staff and management were very courteous and professional, as always, in assisting us getting tee off in ease.
Best course around.
I play here 3 times a week I gotta say it's always fun
Best Municipal Course in Eastern Virginia
This course was by far the best municipal course I have ever played. From start to finish, this course did not disappoint.
Course looked good
Overall, the course was in really good shape. It had just rained the day before and was not terribly wet. The green were in good shape aside from lazy people not repairing their ball marks.
Wish public would fix the damage they do
Sections of all greens are unputtable because of pitch marks which go unrepaired.
Fringes are mostly POA annua but fairways still have decent turf.
Solid Course
Solid Course with some really fair and some challenging holes. Conditions were good and greens were great. Pace of play was a little slow but that is just because I got caught behind VSU team. Solid time all together
Not the best of days
Lots of rain the day before, pretty sloppy fairways. Nothing anyone can do about but play thru it.
Greens were n good shape.
Hatchets everywhere
Multiple five-somes in front of us with non golfers hacking up the place. People - pick up your ball after 7 strokes. Need a starter badly.
A gem
Very wet, it’s been raining every couple of days lately but we had a lot of fun.
