Dogwood Trace Golf Course

Wife and I played, For the money - once again, what a value! Course and greens in super great shape, all VERY green, staff super friendly, and nice clean carts. Course is well maintained.

Staff was friendly and the course was in pretty good shape for how many people play there. Also the pace wasn’t too bad. Not sure why the grill was closed

As usual, a great day on the golf course. Speed of reservation, getting cart. Was exceptional. Pace of play was normal for 18 holes. Course was in great shape tee box, sand traps, fairways all were green and trimmed. Brought new player to area and he was impressed. Will return with me again.

I have played Dogwood numerous times, and consider it my home course.

The latter, being sad, the only complaint I have ever had regarding this course is slow play. If they had the ability to send a Ranger out constantly to ensure the pace play is reasonable, then there would be very few, if any complaints… Outside of ball repair marks that people tend to just ignore and I fix.

The staff is always friendly, and do their best to maintain the course and welcome regular and new players alike.

Either way I would definitely recommend.

Came in basically as a single walk on and needed a rental set. Started right on time and played as a single behind a twosome. Finished 6 holes in about an hour (I played through the group ahead on 6). Terrible weather came through and I decided to wait it out with a BBQ sandwich and a beer (fantastic.) An hour or so later, the weather cleared up and they had no issue with me going back out. I finished the remaining 12 holes in an hour and a half. Fantastic course layout and I was amazed at how well I played for not knowing the course and playing with a rental set. Great for those starting out and challenging enough for lower handicaps. The staff couldn’t have been nicer, they were out of a product I was looking for and they said they’d send me one (I live in Florida). Awesome people and awesome course, hopefully will be back!

The course was in good condition even though the ground was a little hard. But still way better than the old Lee park days. Had a great time will be back next weekend if the weather permits.

Course was in bad shape. The pace of play was very slow. It was overbooked. they were booking every three minutes.. hair salons don’t book like that. I thought they were bad.. you could’ve got your hair done and out before you finish playing golf so slow. used to be well manicured golf course. Grass is not growing in the fairways brown. I was embarrassed to tell somebody and invite them to the golf course. I bragged on the course I was embarrassed that I had someone to come play it. it was not worth the money that we had to spend should’ve been a whole lot cheaper.

It’s not in good condition. If I had not played the course plenty of times over several years, I would not recognize it the maintenance of it. I would be a shame to call it DOGWOOD TRACE would change the name. The pace of play was bad. Could have went to the hair salon and got out faster than playing golf. If you know anything about how hair salons book their clients. Every three minutes someone was tee off at the first tee. That’s what other people were saying, regardless when they started their tee time to close major back up. Pay too much money for the course that was not in good shape and the pace of play, I will wait and not recommend people to play there right now until they get money to fix up the place. I was embarrassed to invite folks there because I was bragging on how well Keep Up and beautiful the course was.

The course is still a good value, and the people are friendly, but the course conditions are far from what I have experienced in the past. The greens are in good shape, but the fairways, collars and fringes are some combination of bare or clumpy, with many, many weeds, and the ground is as hard as the parking lot. And zero rakes for the bunkers, so plenty of tracks to find. We had a pleasant day because of the weather and getting out to play, but the course was a disappointment. We've always loved it, so we will give it another try this summer.

Nice course in good shape.Greens are in good condition after aeration a few weeks ago and fairways and tee boxes are in good shape.No need for driver on all the par fours and good variation of distance on the par 3’s

played Tuesday afternoon and Pace of play was good as I finished in under 3 hours.Main grip would be that there are very few markers on the fairways which makes it hard to determine yardage to the greens.

Other than that this place is well worth your time to play and I would recommend it for anyone in the area

We chose this course as a day trip to play a good course at a reasonably price that was out of our immediate area.

Staff greeted us with smiles and a general idea of where to go since it's not easily done the 1st time.

Cart to the range. When we were there the range was a small strip of land with barely any grass. The entire course seemed like every inch of land was accounted for and the holes were very strategically designed to fit in a tighter spot. Lots of boundary holes. Conditions were very dry due to lack of watering outside of rain. Shots that might end up next to your landing areas instead shoot off out of bounds or 20 yards somewhere else. In order to stop a ball it needs to be perfectly struck and have a steep angle of descent. Length is not an advantage. Greens pretty good. Ground was hardpan. No yardage markers at all. If you don't have a yardage book or device it's a hard guess.

With that said it's only 33 bucks.

I'd maybe play it again but kind of doubt it.

The grass in the fairways is bad. Clumps everywhere, bare spots, terrible cut lines. I couldn’t tell where the fairway ended and the rough began. The greens are recovering nicely from their punch but they might be over watering just a bit because they are very soft and very slow. But the rest of the course is pretty dry and the ground is hard. The tee boxes weren’t much better than the fairways. I usually play at Birkdale but I thought I’d try out Dogwood and see how it is this season. I’ll stick to Birkdale from now on. The staff was very nice as always. But the course is not in great shape.
