Dogwood Trace Golf Course

Played again after playing last week. Course in good condition for the number of rounds being played on a public course. Stay was great and we started right at our reserved tee time. Greens were a little slower than last week. Pace of play was good for 7 holes and then came up on a group of 3 that were very slow. They did not let us play thru, but they let a walking twosome that was in front of us play thru. That twosome finished 3 holes in front of this group after going in front of them on #10. I am sure if there was aMarshall, this would have been taken care of. In addition they did not pay attention to signs to return carts to cart path and took them all the way up to the green. We watched them almost run the cart on the green on # 13 after just missing the corner of the greenside bunker with it !! Other than that, we enjoyed our round and will come back again.

The course, as always, is beautiful and well-maintained. The greens, however, always seem to have divots that have been left over by previous golfers.

Again, the only problem I have ever had, is that there is not a ranger to ensure pace of play. It would be nice to have someone come around to make sure that the people who are holding up everyone, either pick up the pace of play, or let the others behind them play through. Win. There is a twosome that is pressing into a foursome for five holes, and they don’t let you play through, it’s extremely exhausting and effects enjoying the round as well as your score.

I have seen arguments break out quite a few times because of this. It is always on the weekend…every time.

This will still never deter me from playing my home course because I’m loyal to the staff, and I’m welcomed every time I walk in by name….Thank you Mike 🤜🤛

Course was packed but pace of play was good. Course was in good condition (tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens). Staff was a little slow checking people in and it appeared there was a new person doing that. Unfortunately had to stop with 3 holes to go due to a rain storm coming thru that drenched me :(.

Good course layout but greens have multiple divot hole in them from golfers not repairing their divots.

Have been playing this course for several years and it has been consistently very good, at times exceptional.

Dogwood Trace is standing the test of time.

Wife and I played, For the money - once again, what a value! Course and greens in super great shape, all VERY green, staff super friendly, and nice clean carts. Course is well maintained.

Staff was friendly and the course was in pretty good shape for how many people play there. Also the pace wasn’t too bad. Not sure why the grill was closed

As usual, a great day on the golf course. Speed of reservation, getting cart. Was exceptional. Pace of play was normal for 18 holes. Course was in great shape tee box, sand traps, fairways all were green and trimmed. Brought new player to area and he was impressed. Will return with me again.

I have played Dogwood numerous times, and consider it my home course.

The latter, being sad, the only complaint I have ever had regarding this course is slow play. If they had the ability to send a Ranger out constantly to ensure the pace play is reasonable, then there would be very few, if any complaints… Outside of ball repair marks that people tend to just ignore and I fix.

The staff is always friendly, and do their best to maintain the course and welcome regular and new players alike.

Either way I would definitely recommend.

Came in basically as a single walk on and needed a rental set. Started right on time and played as a single behind a twosome. Finished 6 holes in about an hour (I played through the group ahead on 6). Terrible weather came through and I decided to wait it out with a BBQ sandwich and a beer (fantastic.) An hour or so later, the weather cleared up and they had no issue with me going back out. I finished the remaining 12 holes in an hour and a half. Fantastic course layout and I was amazed at how well I played for not knowing the course and playing with a rental set. Great for those starting out and challenging enough for lower handicaps. The staff couldn’t have been nicer, they were out of a product I was looking for and they said they’d send me one (I live in Florida). Awesome people and awesome course, hopefully will be back!
