older course but well maintained; doesn't drain very well after rain.

I played here for the first time with coworkers today. The course itself was in very good shape, but the tee boxes need a lot of work. Several didn’t have grass, but I guess that’s why you use a tee. The course had received a lot of rain and was cart path only which slowed down the pace of play. Would love to come back when the course is dryer.

Really nice course. Staff was friendly and helpful. Tight fairways lined with trees. Very nice greens and fairways. Rough was thick and not easy to hit out of but was mown. Some of the tee boxes could use some maintenance, but were playable. Played with another person we played in a little over 3 hours. I would recommend playing this course.

Greens are in excellent shape. Fairways could use some attention with many very thin or bare spots.

The front nine tee boxes are in awful shape, some of the fairways are suspect, greens overall were in very good shape. Back nine was much better

Stumpy Lake is in great condition! I have played this course before but they have really improved the quality of this experience. Beautifully groomed fairways and greens, and the sand traps were filled with sand (Yeah) and raked perfectly. It was a pleasure to play and the staff was right there to politely make sure that the pace was moving.

I would definitely urge you to check the course out - you won't be disappointed!

Course is in good shape. Fairways a bit patchy but greens were very good.

My dad and I teed off at 10am on a very-hot June day, and we basically had the course to ourselves, so no issue with pace of play.

If you like your 18 holes mostly straight and flat and open, if you like your 18 holes framed by trees on both sides, and if you like wide fairways, this is the course for you. It's an old track, so it lacks curves and mounds of more modern courses.

Condition of the course was mixed. The greens were generally in good shape. The fairways were consistently OK, but there are better elsewhere in town. The tee boxes were not as strong. The course now has six tees on each hole, with two forward tees sitting in front of the traditional tee box. The forward tee boxes are not yet mature, and barely covered in grass in many places. Also, the course took a heavy rain the night before we played, and there was a lot of residual standing water in various places. The forward tee boxes were generally muddy with not enough grass filled in.

This is a small complaint, however. We enjoyed the classic holes and layout. This is absolutely a scorer's course, if you can keep the ball straight inside the generously-wide fairways.

Enjoyed the course and will definitely play again.

I live two hrs away just north of Richmond and drove down to play 18 with a great friend who resides at the Beach. It’s been a while since I played here, but once off the first tee, past enjoyment of the course came rushing back. The fairways were in decent shape. A couple tee boxes could use some work. Greens were running very slow but true. The bunkers looked like they had not been worked in a while. The staff was wonderful and very polite. I will return!

Had a good round. Staff very friendly and the course is in good shape. Saw a Coyote on the back 9 that seemed pretty comfortable. Fairways were in good shape and the greens are a little slow. Overall it was a good round.

Greens were in great condition and was a great round. Clubhouse is great and a very friendly staff.

Go play it for the value!

Unfortunately the greens were not cared for. The course is beautiful but every green was punched and filled with sand. Played 2 weeks earlier and they closed the front 9 for this purpose. Greens still haven’t bounced back and made for a miserable day of putting. Love this course just wish I played a few weeks later.

The course was on the wet side, due to recent rains, but I still found the overall condition of the course in pretty good shape.

The course is coming back and looking much better. The staff is wonderful as are the people who golf there it feels like a family, love it.

Everything was perfect! The front 9 was a little slow but the 2nd was paced perfectly. Everyone is friendly from the staff to the other players. The course is recovering from a tough summer, we really enjoy it.

AS USUAL THIS IS MY FAVORITE COURSE, WITH EVERYONE FROM STAFF TO OTHER PLAYERS BEING THE NICEST EVER...IT MAKES FOR A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE ALONG WITH THE NATURAL SETTING I LOVE IT

very weird experience, checked in and given a cart key, but no carts available. Course was in decent shape,however overbooked and pace of play not enforced at all, we stood on the tee box for almost 15 minutes on multiple holes,fairways were pretty nice, course layout is fun. greens need help. quietness and wildlife a plus, being told they were locking the gate in 5 minutes when we were on the 16th hole with a group in front and multiple groups behind us when there was still another 35 minutes of light left was ridiculous. desire to return to this course is low.
